I thought this would be a fun topic to discuss. I get in the hot tub and have a cigar many nights after dark. This gives me a chance to look at the night sky and often see stuff I am not sure how to explain. So I’m wondering what strange things that you have seen in the night sky? Unexplained phenomenon, satellites etc.

If I just sit still for a few seconds, I see all sorts of stuff. Satellites, planets, meteors, the ISS. Few things I can’t explain, too.

Here’s one: I remember seeing the lights of what looked like two big jets (like 737s). This was at night so all I had to go by was the lights. One was following directly behind the other. I thought that was interesting enough, but then I noticed that stars disappeared between them as the moved across the sky. I realized I was looking at something MUCH bigger than two jets. I watched it long enough to notice by the way it blocked out the stars that it was oblong in shape. It seemed to cruise at a very high altitude. Totally silent. The only thing I could think at the time was maybe it’s a blimp. But it seemed too high and moved way too fast for that. :notsure:

I figured that would be a response. Thankfully all natural here. No alcohol or drugs.

I like to look at stars and satellites when I'm out camping but can't say I've seen anything strange.

Most nights its clear i spend a few hours stargazing, just shooting stars and satellites. Usually use my sky map to find the name of a new star and read the wiki on it.

but every month or so during daylight i get to watch someone practice their airshow tricks, thats always interesting.
