Just want to see what everyone recommends in terms of speakers and what their setups look like. If you have an aftermarket system it'd be greatly appreciated to reply with your setups specs and your thoughts and opinions on the decision you've made. I find it annoying having to look through every forum to see who has what so I thought why not have one dedicated for it!

Also, let us know where you bought everything from!

Fwiw, while I just took delivery of a 2023 Tundra Limited with the JBL 12-speaker system, this is what I did with my 2018 Tacoma that also had the JBL system, albeit with less power and only (I think) 6 speakers and a sub ... I quickly realized that, even though it was Toyota's top-end audio system, the sound quality was far less than expected, and I don't consider myself an audiophile. When I pulled the door panels I was shocked with what I found; the speakers were crap, just pitiful, and JBL should be ashamed for allowing their brand to be attached to them. Having used JBL speakers for the past 45 years, both indoors and in vehicles, and wanting to keep the system all-JBL, I ordered high-end JBL speakers and a Fosgate sub from Crutchfield. I also inserted a small dedicated amp for the sub. I felt the JBL head-end was decent, so kept it. The front door JBL speakers came with a separate surface mount tweeter, so I mounted them in the upper-right/left quadrant of the doors in parallel with the dash tweeters. The difference in sound quality was night and day, and I'm not exaggerating one bit. While I've had the Tundra for only a few days, my assessment of the system is the same as with the Tacoma, and I expect to make the very same changes. That said, when I plugged in the Tundra specs on the Crutchfield site, the response was ... "We haven't researched your vehicle's audio system." Wtf ... The Gen 3 Tundra has been out for 2+ years now ! The chat agent pointed out that they have a program where, if you're willing to do some research/work, and feed data back to them, they'll give you a gift card for up to (<= keyword) $350. Oh, and a hat, too. I'll participate to a degree, not because of the bennies but because I want to know what components are compatible with the Tundra.

    Everything depends on your budget.

    This is mid setup:
    Aftermarket head unit ~ $600-1200
    5ch amp $300-500
Either: 2 sets of components or 1 set of comoponents (front) and 1 set of coax (rear) $300-600
10" or 12" sub with box (either single or dual) $500-100
    Wiring ~$100
    Sound deadening ~$75

That will be a pretty nice setup.
I'm currently running AudioFrog 3-ways in the front and JL Audio C5-650's in the rear with 2 JL 10tw3-d4's in a ported box with dual JL Hd900/5 amps and a Helix DSP Pro Mk2 and a Kenwood 1037s.

For sure it depends on budget but, even more so what you have for a head-end (i.e. JBL vs. non-JBL) and what level of quality you'd be satisfied with. Once I replaced the speakers and sub w/amp, it was def a system I was quite happy with for the 5 years I owned the Tacoma, and for far less than the figures you're estimating above ...

Stereo integrity tm8 8inch front door
2 stereo integrity bm12 mk behind back seat
    Sealed box from tech12volts
    Nvx deadening throughout cab.

mam going to move tweets to a pillar and install stereo integrity m3 carbon mids in dash just for kicks and giggles. Don’t need it but might as well. Or install the infinity 203s mids in the dash. Can’t decide.

    Just for info:

stereo integrity is having a huge sale on their components and subs right now.
