Hey guys! Decided to change my power steering fluid today, first time it's been changed since the truck was new (previous owner said he never had it done) the truck presented no problems. I did it mainly because I wanted to do SOMETHING to my truck. I was getting bored. The old fluid was extremely dark brown, flushed it with 2 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic atf. Honestly havent noticed a difference in steering feel, everything is still tight as ever. But I have peace of mind knowing it's done. Kinda wish I did it earlier when I got the truck on account of how bad the fluid looked. So be sure to change yours at whatever interval you see fit, otherwise it might look like this! This was the very first pull out of the reservoir.

Fellas typically do not pay much attention to their power steering fluid ~ I know I didn't until I had an issue with an aging Lexus that likely never had its fluid changed.
The steering became really herky-jerky at slow speeds but was fine once the engine speed was above an idle. New fluid solved this issue and the system seemed fine after that.
