On a more serious note I can probably cover all the answers you'll get by asking this question that has as many opinions as there are assholes on the internet @buckeyeman11

    For Major brands:
    • Mobil 1
    • Pennzoil
    • Castrol
    • Valvoline
    • Royal Purple
    • Shell Rotella
    • Quaker State
    • Amsoil
    • Lucas Oil
    • Red Line
    From Retailers:
    • Super Tech (Walmart's house brand)
    • Havoline (available at various retailers including Walmart, AutoZone, etc.)
    • Motorcraft (Ford's OEM brand, available at Ford dealerships and various retailers)
    • ACDelco (General Motors' OEM brand, available at GM dealerships and various retailers)
    • Mag 1 (available at various retailers)
    • STP (available at various retailers)
    • Advance Auto Parts (store brand, available at Advance Auto Parts)
    • NAPA (store brand, available at NAPA Auto Parts)
    • Prestone (known for coolant but also offers motor oils, available at various retailers)
    • Peak (available at various retailers)
Any of those that meet the toyota requirements in the manual and you'll be good.

    You guys change the oil?

After the recall ill go to the autozone used oil bin and fill up a couple milk jugs. Maybe a few snorts of 75w140 gear oil to keep the main bearings extra happy and some used ATF to keep the valves nice and quiet.

The best oil is the one that’s changed regularly.

I’ve always used Mobil 1 but was thinking about giving penzoil or amsoil a try.

been using 0w-20 but thinking I should go to 5w-30 since Texas is hot as balls.

I thought the 3rd gen’s had lifetime oil? There’s no need to change it.

Kirkland brand 0w20. It’s goes on sale twice a year and I stock up. I use a Purolator One filter, which I buy bulk at Menards, then do the 11% rebate. I change my oil every 5K.
