What kind of spare tire mount are you guys running?

If any of you guys are running larger than 35" tires (tires too big to fit underneath the truck) what kind of spare mounting system are you using? I've been looking at FabTech for their bed mount but I've seen some really solid looking spare tire racks for the bed also. I want to be able to lock it down without just throwing it in the back and putting a cable through it...what works for you guys?

I mounted my 35" spare under the truck in the spare tire location.

I'm moving to a 37" tire and they aren't going to fit there.

Sorry man, I thought the + symbol after the 35" would have clarified it but you're right, I'll edit it.

Did it fit or did you have to mod ? Just got 35’s would be nice to mount a spare up there if that’s a thing

I just purchased a Wilco pre-runner style tire gate for my spare 37”. Pricey but useful for my needs

You have to take off the alignment tabs. I had to take it to a shop so they could air hammer them off.

My actual gate is due to arrive April 9th, but here is a pic of it for reference. It also reverses to fit mostly in the bed, leaning the other way and opens and closes on hinges54C7EBE4-7986-4954-BE0E-EEF6C356C196.jpg

Oh I got ya, when you said gate I wasn't sure what you meant...makes sense now. I think I need to get something to contain it within the bed, I'm going to put a top on it this winter.

I've been wondering if something like this would work with the Decked system? @DECKEDUSA

Facing outboard like the picture I don’t see any reason why not. This gate mounts in the stock tundra tailgate locations. They make a more vertical one too and I think a member in here is selling his

Wilcooffroad.com also has hitchgate max...goes into your trailer hitch and can fit up to 37" tire...

I'm worried about the bottom of the tire jutting too far into the the bed is all.

Both sites also have add-ons for mounting gerry cans of gas and maxtrax, and hi-lift jacks.

P and P engineering also makes a nice bumper with a swing out tire carrier. On the website you can add 1 to 2 carriers and it can be made in steal or aluminum.

It doesn't appear the tire sticks into the rear of the bed. As long as the tire is mounted outboard you should have no issues with a DECKED system. You should be good to go
