For those that have special ordered your tundras im curious what kind of deals you have gotten. Specifically the difference between the price the website has quoted you and what you paid OTD at the dealership.

I want a TRD sport with only a few simple add ons. The build price is around 48k but I was quoted 2019 TRD sports for under 42k only a few months ago. Curious if I will be able to get that close with a build

What was wrong with the truck they quoted you 42k for? Unless you do something pretty wacky or unique it shouldn't be too difficult for a dealer to work with you and you should be able to keep the price around what they quoted.

I wasn't ready to buy when I was quoted those prices. I was simply contacting dealers to feel out who was willing to work with me and what kind of prices I was being quoted. I won't be ready to buy until summer of 2021.

I'm playing the long game on this purchase.

Ah, in that case I would look at the dealerships around you and see what they list the truck for and then how much they take off. Then when you are ready to buy work the dealerships against each other but this will give you an idea of what they have discounted in the past.
At least, that is what I did. Can't compare current prices to summer of 2021 need few month window to compare. hopefully inventory will be better for you and you will get a better price.

Yeah that's kinda what I did as a trial a few months ago. I was pleased with the results. I have my heart set on an army green TRD sport and I have a feeling that may be hard to find in my area. Thats why I'm trying to gather information about doing a special order as that will be one of my options along with flying somewhere out of state
