I'm getting close to 100k on my 2018 Tundra. I'll probably try to hang onto it, but I do need to start thinking of my next daily driver. I've thrown leather, a good sound system, and alot of subtle mods on the truck that make it a really fun and comfortable driver, so whatever comes next has big shoes to fill.

I don't rely on my truck for "truck purposes" full time. I am a commuter primarily.

I'm wondering what others think about. Here are the vehicles that have caught my eye. I would buy new, or very slightly used.

    Lexus GX 550

Land Cruiser (hybrid only, so some concerns)

    BMW i4 eDrive40 Sport AWD

    Ineos Grenadier

    Any other ideas??

If its a daily driver/ commuter and the Tundra isn't that vehicle, I would go with one of the Subaru models (Outback, Forester, Crosstrek) with the "Wilderness Edition" pkg. My son has a Forester-Wilderness and it is very well equipped and comfortable. It would be an option that I would consider if I was in the market for an additional vehicle for daily driving.

The cost of anything new plus fuel, maint, reg, and insurance buys quite a bit of fuel, maint, reg, and insurance for the truck and it is barely starting to get broken in. Sounds like you just need a supercharger and a 5.29 gear swap upgrade to help rekindle the romance a little.:headbang:

We have a Lexus RX350 Fsport that I absolutely love to drive. It's smooth, quiet, & comfortable. We are both retired & its our primary driver. Excellent mileage & enjoyable to drive.

Well, the '19 Tundra I bought w/20K miles two years ago now has 32K.

I drove my last Tundra, and the 4Runner before that to over 200K miles.

Doing the rough math, my next vehicle should be one of those flying cars they promised us when I was in grade school.

That being said, if I were to add something to the stable it'd be fun to have something sporty. Corvette, Supra, etc.

Corvette has been on the list since I was a child. Unfortunately it just doesn't click the boxes now ....sad face emoji...

From your list, I like the GX. If I'm trading in my 4Runner, this is what I'd get. If I'm adding a car, I want an Audi RS5 Sportback or a BMW Z4 M40i.

Not too late to grab a 4.0 V6 4Runner. Might not be a racecar, but it's a pretty decent multipurpose rig that will survive many challenges. Mine hauls 5 and pulls a 2.5 ton fully loaded somewhat tall camper at 65mph/15.4 mpg without a struggle in the midwest. Not ideal for large or tall folks though, so that might be a deal breaker.

I've never wavered in my lust for a 911 since the first time I saw one when I was like 7 or 8 years old. I'm not even picky, as long as its got a manual tranny, I'm good!!

I am just concerned that at that it being a 3 year old car with only 8 miles on it and no maintenance record at all.
It started in AZ (which is dry as hell) and end up in AL, brand new and all....

something is not right, why would someone let such a car sit for that long, completely un-used?

I had to replace a vehicle that got totaled for lack of repair parts.

GX550 was out because Lexus dealer is too damn far away.

Grenadier was out because I just had to deal with a car with unobtainable parts… and the nearest dealer is too damn far away.

BMW anything was ruled out because they build unreliable shit, and the dealer is too far away.

I took delivery of a new Land Cruiser almost two weeks ago. Still driving my ancient Tundra and the wife daily drives the LC.

The BMW is a reluctant addition. I saw one over in Scotland and got bit by it. I will definitely monitor for reliability and quality/owner satisfaction.

Its time for a new motorcycle. Kinda want one of those early 2000's bmw boxer sportybikes. But i can burn up to $4k on anything i find. Might spend it on the tundra. Nothing has really called to me yet.

Ooohh, that's a good one too!

I've had the pleasure of driving a 1971 911T in the 80's, and a 2012-ish 911 (Carrera?) with launch control in 2017 or so. The owner encouraged me try out the launch control, and I didn't want to insult him, sooo... :burnrubber:Launch it I did!
Both were impressive but the refinements would certainly make the newer version WAAAYY more user friendly and easier to go fast in.

On that note, the '71 eventually ended up wadded up in someone's front yard when the owner pushed it a tad too hard through an S-turn he liked near his house.

While I can't speak for newer BMW models, I can say that I've only put over 100k mi on 2 vehicles I've ever owned:

2014 535d: currently at 140Kmi and been a problem free DD.
    2009 K1300S: sold with 98,500mi

I am a big fan of the Rav4 and some of their trims. You have a solid list, so I will just add this. Tundras are not Rams. (I am a Ram guy at hear) 100k is barely ready for fun yet. As a matter of fact, I would buy yours under the right conditions. I have a 17 with 120k and have no desire to get rid of it and I have gone through 3 rams..

long story short, if the MPGs dont bother you, hold on to it. she has a lot to offer still.

Yeah, the ideal plan is hang onto the Tundra and get a fun, nice commuter, hopefully a little (or alot) more economical.

The LC/GX would provide me some truck-like utility and features. The BMW/Audi/?? Would provide luxury and fuel economy benefits I've never splurged for.

LC/GX might mean the truck becomes unnecessary. An upscale sedan would pressure me to keep it.

One thing I am battling is that we now have 5 cars for 4 drivers, and we live in suburbia. When we're all home, the driveway and garage are FULL.

My old boss got one of the M2's when they came out and let me romp it a little. WOW!

I rolled into it on a decreasing radius onramp (Mast Ave. onto the Westbound SR52 for you San Diego people) and grabbed a couple of VERY crisp shifts with the paddle shifters (You know, 'cuz merging)

I figured I might be nearing triple digits so I let off and checked the speedo... Imagine my surprise to see the needle @ 130 mph.

Oh, and that was in "Sport" mode... There's one more after that which he calls "Oh Shit" mode with all nannies off.

He's been a car guy forever and has had Corvettes, Porsches, BMW's.

He commented that while he loves his 911's and 'Vettes, the M2 has very "Neutral" handling characteristics and inspires great driver confidence.
Said when you go fast in the 'Vette, you feel like you're going fast. Go fast in the M2 and you don't think you're going nearly as fast as you actually are. I can vouch for the accuracy of this assessment.
