Getting ready to mod my fog light function and I see this thing and not sure what it is? Thought it was an aftermarket alarm shut off but I believe my truck has a factory alarm system.

I'm 95% sure it is an aftermarket something. Why mount a button when all other buttons are built into the dash surfaces?

If it were mine, I'd remove the 2 phillip screws and see if there's info on back that might be helpful.

I unscrewed it and ran the numbers on google. It got me to a post on a honda forum with someone with the same question and the same part in the pics. Looks like its a KARR security system which apparently I did not know my truck had. Not even sure it works? This weekend I’ll pull the under dash out find out more.

You might have seen same thing in your searches but I'd pick a day when I was in a good mood. According to who installed and how they tapped into wires, determines how many ah shits you say !
My main suggestion, when/if you get serious, unplugged battery !

Aftermarket anti theft system. Known to fail, so I'd remove it before you get stranded. Just my two cents

That is exactly what it is.
Some a hole dealerships install them on all their vehicles and try to hard sell on them. Basically if you pay them $500+, they give you the remotes, otherwise you are stuck with it just sitting there.
My Tacoma came with one and despite their guilt trip, I refused to pay for it.

When I got the truck home I yanked it out. Only wire that you should need to splice back together is the starter lead (goes in/out of a relay under the dash).

Still annoys me that there are two holes in my lower dash but it has been 8 years so whatever.
