I’m going to look at an 05 XSP and I’m trying to figure out exactly what it is?

I put the vin number in at Toyota.com and it come up as an SR5. Does the vin not indicate this? What are the differences in an SR5 vs an XSP?

    This is the listing.

05 Tundra XSP, 2wd, 4.7. 153k. Over 2k recently spent on timing belt replacement, new water pump.

pwr windows including back window, tint, upgraded sound system, Sony Stereo with BT w.Car play, tow package, 20" rims, Cold AC, bed cover, liner. Body is straight, no rust, small dent on the back bumper, skid plate, upgraded exhaust.

My thing is this. The credit union won’t loan shit in an SR5, but they will come close on a Limited. I feel like for what he’s asking I should be able to get a Limited.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks

It’s just a custom package SET (South Eastern Toyota?) tossed together with slightly different visual cues like wheels, fender flares, trim, interior embroidery, badges. Getting replacement body parts can be a bitch. There’s been quite a bit of discussion about this on the forums. Have you read the “so you wanna buy a 1st gen” megathread yet?

Never trust a seller on rust. Many many many many many are full of shit. Ask for proof of timing belt replacement and don’t accept a $1 sticker in the engine bay as “proof”.
