The double cab was offered with this minor cosmetic body change?
Would a double cab with a 6.5 bed be more desirable?
    Curious.

I have always that that body-colored vertical door handle on the DCs looks goofy. I think that the matching handles looks much better.

But, it doesn't matter - the DC option won't work for me until the kids are gone. When you are 6'8" with kids that are also likely to be in the mid to high 6 foot category - the space in the back seat of the DC is a joke.

I doubt it will make that much of a difference in terms of sales. People get the crewmax over the dc for a reason.

Or just paint the front door handles so that it it all blends in better. I’m with @Watt maker. I wouldn’t mind just a little more room but I’m fine with it as it is.

I agree with you that there is plenty of room in the back at least enough for me and wife.
I’m ok with the rear door recessed latches but like you, would prefer matching handles and I have a feeling that a lot of others would too.

I don’t care either way. Door handles wouldn’t sway my choice. Looks good tho. I don’t mind the vertical handle either. Just a door handle haha

I really like the color matched rear door handles. They are a great accent to the superior elegance of the body lines of the DC. We also had a far greater need for bed space over cab size.

I would like it to open toward rear with handle hidden on door jam..... could be useful for some camping accessories having door open away from eachother.

I would actually like to see the CrewMax with a 6' bed. Half way between the current lengths available on the DC and CrewMax. I have found a deal on a older CrewMax and the only thing talking me out of buying it is the bed length. I have gotten used to my 6.5 length and don't know if the 5.5 would be enough. Granted, most times it would, but those times when I need the space, well, I need the space. I thought about buying the CrewMax and keeping my RCSB, but then I would have two Tundras sitting in the driveway.
