So I picked up and popped in the final piece to my hydrodip extravaganza. Looks like my interior is a bit busy for my liking. None the less, I think it turned out good.20180824_164453.jpg

The pieces look great. I agree it's kinda busy. I'd ditch the steering wheel cover and/or the tuffskinz, maybe keep the cup holder ones? I think the red is overwhelming. Maybe trade for someone's all black? Not trying to be offensive, just offer my opinion. But then again we all have different taste. The hydrodip is bad ass though and such a great idea.

I agree, it's a bit too busy for my liking. I'll figure it out eventually. Right now I got more important things that actually matter in function over just looks to take care of. No offense taken Sean, I can tell u a good dude. I'm a big boy and appreciate honest opinions, long as it's constructive criticism with good intentions. Which brings me into my next rant here.

I'm going off on a tangent here but I think they funny as hell and feel the need to share. Has nothing to do with anyone on this site but when Sean made it clear he was just offering his honest opinion and obviously not trying to be a jerk, it came to my mind the type of person opposite Sean. I'm sure we've all come across these next 2 type of people.

This next 2 gifs are funny as hell. It's for those, not u Sean and no one here in particular, that bash to just bash or troll just bc u got no life.

The first here is for those internet tough guys. The type of guy who talks real tough behind the safety of his keyboard, he makes empty threats, and feels the need to tell u how tough he is. But in real life, in person, wouldn't say boo bc he soft. He feels insecure about his own abilities and toughness so he'll bully people over the net and claim to be Chuck Norris, knowing deep down all along, he cant fight worth a damn and as a kid got beat up everyday in school. Ladies and gents I'd like to present you, the keyboard warrior, aka the internet tough guy.
    FB_IMG_1512366292320.jpg

For those that are nasty to people for no reason and feed off making others miserable. They have nothing nice to say and were never taught to then not say anything. They always negative and just a real downer to be around. The type of person who wouldn't find this next gif funny and would take offense for some reason. Ladies and gents, I'd like to present mr or mrs miserable.

    FB_IMG_1530494460978.jpg

I know back to Tundra porn, I just came across these 2 and felt the need to bring a laugh hopefully to everyone. Sean acting the opposite of these type of people with good intentions is what actually made me think about the opposite type of people.

Kinda, let me ask u this. If I don't have ceramic from factory rear sides and rear, then I try to match the fronts to it with non ceramic as well, like I've already done. Would applying a light shade of ceramic tint like you did not look good? Would the fact that the rest is non ceramic make either either type of tint not look good since it's not the same kind? Also asking is it very apparent the difference between the ceramic and non tints?

I like the idea of keeping inside cooler and protecting the interior a bit from the sun. My truck sits for many hours with sun blasting thru front windshield. Like u mentioned earlier, at damn near 40 I've already found driving at night my eyes ain't what they use to be. I don't want to sacrifice visibility to keep truck cool. But if a light shade of ceramic tint in the front will cool it and still allow me to see at night, I'd be down for it. If it looks cool even the better. Guess I'm asking purely based on aesthetics, I have factory shade non ceramic tint all the way around except for front windshield. If I copied your idea and execution would it look stupid on my truck? TIA Ron.

In case u can't tell, I don't know much about ceramic tint, except it's more expensive and looks better

Know which 1 I questioned even putting in right from the get was the really long skinny 1 to right of cupholder. Thought it looked a little funny and off. But figured since I paid for it all as part of a package deal might as well try it at least.

I really like how the hydro dip came out. I wonder what all the tough skinz in grey would look like paired with it

The grab handle Toyota should not have deleted and that I immediately missed from my ‘08 when I bought the ‘18.

My kids and I agree. Trying to decide on the plastic caps or have the chrome removed from the steel. Of course there is wrap. Eventually it will be better than the PRO.

That was due to collusion by @Roman and @SparksParts - they convinced Toyota to remove it so we would have to buy from them. :)

Right on! I only did my 2 fronts about 21% but noticed today that my truck was not as hot after sitting in the sun all day & it was much faster cooling it. I think I'm going to do the sunroof with a darker ceramic & clear ceramic on the front windshield

I already have wiring to reverse and on demand switch setup. I plan to use as extra reverse lighting and hooking my trailer up late night, offroad trail light, work area, scene lighting, ect.

I need help on deciding mount location. I live in north Jersey where the road salt is brutal on metal. So I'd prefer to not cut any and paint to avoid increasing chances and progression of rusting. I'm aware I'll get the most light in corner bumper end caps and it will look good while also providing the most deterrent from theft. I think I'd be willing to sacrifice all that plus the little extra output by mounting in the black rear plastic, A) if it can be done which looks like it can with either no to minimal cutting or drilling into metal behind bumper and B) very important, does not look stupid there?

This is where u guys come in and if u got any info, advice, vote on a location I'd greatly appreciate it.

Part of me says if I'm going to drill a hole into the metal behind the black plastic to securely mount better, or have to shave a sliver off just to fit I'd might as well put toward outside endcaps and enjoy the above benefits. The other part of me says if I can get them in the black plastic and simply drill a hole or 2 into the metal bracket behind the black plastic it will deter theft and not have a huge impact on rusting where mounting in endcaps could.

So what are your votes on location? Whys and reasons are fine too. Heres a bunch of pics the best I could to give an idea of what it would look like in the black plastic. But first heres an idea of how it could look in the endcaps for comparison.

Here's another possibility I guess, however I have yet to see anyone who mounted them in this little square part and don't know if it's even possible.

Sorry for bad 2 above pics my phone battery dying and won't allow for flash at moment.
Here's what it could look like in black plastic, I took these earlier today.

Help please, I know I can count on u guys. Keep in mind it's gonna look better already installed on the other trucks than me holding it in front with my big ass beard jumping in the pics. Let me know what looks best and where you think i should mount them based on the points I brought up above. Keep in mind I need any advice asap.

    Thanks guys.

I think with the amber lenses it would look best in the black. I am wanting something similar but having hard time chosing best lights for the rear bumper.

If it were me, I would put them further out to get more spread since they are wide cornering lenses.

I’ve got 70% ceramic tint on the front windshield of mine and it absolutely does not hinder night vision... pushing 40 myself and have no problems. Even the wife who constantly says my side windows (10%) are too dark says the windshield is totally fine day and night. She even drove a buddy’s truck who has 5% on the sides and 50% on windshield and she said she didn’t notice the windshield being too dark. You will be fine if you go 70% on the windshield.

Easy, best u want baja designs, bc u get what u pay for. @Bailey from bd told me mounted in rear bumper wide corner is best, if high work scene more useable. Also obviously depends on what ur looking to accomplish.

Btw tnx for ur input and opinion.

Not gonna hold back..it’s not my favorite mod you’ve done. While cool in itself, the hydrodip just doesn’t go with what you have already done in my opinion. Your truck is badass. Just not a fan of this mod.

I'm interested too lol. Just wish I wasn't the Guinea pig in a way. I'm guessing at endcaps, especially with wide cornering has to be better. Now exactly how much more throw per foot of mount location, ur guess is good as mine. I'm guessing it has to be much more than foot by foot, like 3 feet further out on bumper has to throw way more in spread than just the 3 feet mount location difference. I'm thinking this is even further amplified in the wide cornering lens. A spot not so much.

Plus the guru Vizsla chimed in on my build thread and said he's used both locations and for both looking in the camera and mirrors the endcap mount is better. Especially with a bigger light like a bd squadron.

I must say at this point I'm leaning endcap. People have mounted similar size lights in that location so I already know it can be done. I'd hate to cut the black plastic up and find out mid install it either won't fit or I got to remove whole bumper or whatever other issue I can run into mounting these in a location no one else has done. I'd usually be all about doing something different and having something no one else does, but in this instance I'm leaning on taking the safer route. I know, I know, no risk no reward. Hey there are other benefits to going out wide in that location besides just more throw.
