Thanks man. Maybe they won't give me a hard time and will cover it under warranty. It was a certified Toyota when I bought it back in July of 19.

When did you buy it and was it certified?

In a past life I sold them. The certification you paid for in your purchase price. That specific warranty is 7yr or 100k miles on powertrain. Its actually better than the new vehicle warranty. If they give you hard time mention this is the exact reason you didn't buy a Tundra from a non toyota dealer. You saw the value of paying extra to have it certified from a toyota dealer which is why you were willing to pay more for the truck than what you could have bought elsewhere. The dealer gets reimbursed from toyota corporate for warranty work.

    Good luck.

Truth be told I did not know I had puddle lights until I read about it on this forum. The factories were so dim I never noticed them. This is a huge improvement and money well spent.171DA0F1-A763-400F-B57B-B163ADCF81E0.jpg39C13CD8-3E48-4FF7-9E27-3F64D7C9C766.jpg

In-stock. Typically, the all black body with black insert and black threading is in-stock. Lead times for customizations are in the 8-10 week frame it seems. These only took about 4 days to be delivered.

Redemption from earlier in the week. Becky got her new shoes today! Don't mind the extra 10 pounds of salt on it, she's DIRTY. Cooper Discoverer AT3 LT 275/65r18. Part of me wishes I would have done 5 of the 275/70r18 XLTs. Thinking about putting spacers on it for stancelyfe.

I really appreciate the guidance and especially the info on the Toyota certified warranty. I love this truck and certainly wasn't expecting this to happen. Dealership hasn't ever done me wrong which is why I bought from them and not my hometown Toyota dealership.

Anytime. I don't know if you passed the 1 yr or 12k miles bumper to bumper portion of the CPO warranty, if not, there's no question they need to cover it.

Yeah unfortunately it's a common issue. I've been peaking at mine every month or so hoping it don't happen over the past 5 years. I too love my truck. I've heard they've had so many issues with it that it was being considered for a recall fix on those that need it. I guess Toyota hasn't gone that far yet to cover that expense. I'm guessing it's ultimately going to be up to the dealer you purchased from. I would use the things I've told you so far and also throw in the same reasons you just told us of why you purchased there. A good dealers reputation is everything to them. See if they do right by you, if not, let me know, theres other things you can say and do to help persuade them. Good luck.

So if its a matter of fixing it with different sealant, why don't they do it during manufacturing? I'm new to the 5.7 so I'm not real familiar with the issue. My 2013 had the 4.6 and I didn't hear much about it with that motor.

After reading 83 pages worth on the Cam Tower Leak thread, evidently a worthless robot on the production line can't do it's job right putting enough pressure on part when sealant is applied. Toyota is ditching the 5.7 soon anyway so problem solved. Then they will only have to deal with all of us.;)

The non JBL systems, (like mine), are slightly more involved, and pricier. I paid about what you did, but it was about 18 months ago, and the price has gone up. The non JBL system for my ‘18 included new dash speakers, and the stock center speaker is dropped with the new wiring. I deadened the doors and back panel before I put the stereo in, and it sounds great; even better since I ditched the Pro Comp mud tires this week, and am rolling some new Coopers.

I got the XLTs on Tuesday, 35-12.50/R20. I’m originally from MN, and that salt still makes me cringe.

Installed a set of seat jackers. Took less than 20 min to install. Very simple and a noticeable improvement in seat angle. Took some pressure off the lower back. Will buy another set for passenger side.
