it’s more of a cost issue. The chrome ones that are on the truck are obviously metal and the paintable metal replacements the I am seeing are $200+ a piece from what I have found so far (not counting painting), but the plastic replacements I have found are less than $150 for both. I have looked at the covers but those seem to be almost as much if not more than metal replacements that can be painted. I have already put money into the wrap so just looking for the least expensive option that will last.

And wasn’t aware that the factory paint match ends were plastic, thought they were all either chrome or painted metal.

I could be wrong, but I am fairly certain that all the painted end caps from Toyota are plastic. The plastic allows for the blind spot monitoring. The only metal ends are the chrome.

Though BSM is only in the rear bumper, you are still correct that paint matched bumpers from the factory are plastic.

thanks @AzureNightmare @RobertD ....found some of the plastic ones new for like $70 each and shouldn’t be that much to have painted.

lol....well probably won’t look much different than it does now just no wrap to peel off. Front just started peeling in one place and the rears still hanging on so may be a bit before replacing.

Those are nice and cheap protection but Jomax Customs makes a quality product that will not rotate. This one and others like it that mount with 1 bolt could rotate if something like brush was jammed up into the wheels. Not these, they have multiple bolts

How often do people actually break these ABS sensors? It is in the same place on Tacos and it was pretty much unheard of except people breaking them while working on the trucks. Seems like a solution searching for a problem.

Cheap insurance when you look up the cost of a single sensor. Kinda the same mindset for people who conceal carry; hope you never need it, but damn glad you have it if you wind up in a bad situation.

No I didn't follow a write up when I did this. I supplied power for the camera from the fuse box and grounded to the chassis. The video wire I ran to the passenger side of the engine bay. You can see the grommet pretty easily when you look under the hood, then it was just remove some panels around the glove box and route the wire to the back of the stereo. I already had an aftermarket head unit with a second camera input so I didn't need anything extra to plug the camera into.

Just ordered the Toytec complete 3" kit with Aluma series coilovers, rear shocks and shackles from David at Toytec. Rear shocks are B/O about 2 weeks, which is fine as I'm still waiting for truck and insurance money to come in.

I've had the Tyger Star Armor for about 3 months. Fairly easy install. I need to get back down there and re-torque the bolts after driving around a bit. My torque ratchet came in this week so no time like the present. I like them better than the OEM chrome steps that were on my truck. They remind me a lot of my ACE Engineering jeep steps that I had. I haven't decided if I am going to put some grip tape over the stars just to make them look different.

I'm looking at lifts also and considering a Toytec (also considering a Readylift).

If you don't mind me asking (feel free to PM if you'd rather), how much are the pieces you ordered?
Will it give you a 3" lift in the front and leave the rear alone or does the rear come up an inch or two as well?
