WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR 3RD GEN TUNDRA TODAY?

Yep. I added the red TRD decals on the pro grill. There's no space for it but I wanted to bring a little more red to the front from the rear off road bed decals. The quality is great. They've with stood rain and bugs so far.

 

Had the pumped-in engine noise turned off while the lift was getting installed. Much better on that front but so far I've only done this with the windows up. I can hear the turbos more clearly now. Stock engine noise and exhaust sound fine in the cab.

 

Did they charge you to turn it off? I've heard of dealerships charging ridiculous amounts for simple stuff like that.

 

I'm not sure because they were installing the lift primarily. I haven't seen the itemized bill yet.

 

How's the engine / fuel doing with that weight? Like the new trucks but afraid to get rid of the v8.

 

Finally got the leveling struts(Rough Country M1) on and 37s.

 

While getting the recalls dealt with at the dealership I asked if they took programming requests. She said it would be $160 to do any programming, specifically to remove the fake engine sound. I told her “no thanks” I’ll just pay $40 and do it myself. When I picked up my car she said she talked with the tech and explained I could do it for $40. Apparently he said it wouldn’t work but they updated the programming free of charge anyway.

 

Hows the ride/impressions?

 

So far, it rides the same as stock. I've only put about 50 miles on it. I do have to trim a little more, but it's just rubbing the carpet liner.

I did cut off the bump out from the frame.

 

Nice to hear. I also saw that you can cut off the bump around the body mount and not need to weld in a filler on youtube.

I also want 37’s but unsure of it because of the daily commute. My brother in law has 37’s on his raptor driven daily. So I may just swing it. We shall see.

Thats ridiculous that they charge to hook up a cable and punch a couple of buttons. I could see of it was the PCS being turned off and they required a signed release form but for something as simple as fake motor noise it's stupid. I had the carista device and did some things to mine, but I don't remember seeing the pipe in sound delete. Now I wasn't actually looking for that and I didn't spend too much time with it. I ended up giving to my buddy with a solar octane pro. Seemed like a fair trade since he gave me a trd pro grill from a sponsor deal from his other tundra.

 

Yeah no plate needed, and as far as I can tell the gas mileage is still decent. I was around 19 mpg now it looks like 17.8. My commute is only 2 red lights and only 2.6 miles to my office.

 

Love this! I have a black platinum and want to paint the mustache. How much did it run you? Did you install the grill yourself?

Any change to the regulations were driven by the idea of the flag going backward when moving forward, and business pushed the idea as well. I always say “Follow the Money” and you’ll find the truth. A bit different, but when BDUs were introduced in the Air Force, you could no longer have short sleeves. The reason given is that ‘some’ people were showing up with short sleeves and not the mandatory set of 4 long sleeves, so they punished everyone by not allowing short sleeves like the previous fatigue uniform. I point this out merely to show how some of this stupid stuff gets started.

 

Ceramic tinted the front windows and sunroof today as well as smoked the tail lights. Coming along… I’ve owned it for 24 hours officially.

Found a solution to the dilemma:
$8 on Amazon for these Velcro strips. Will post more pics tomorrow but they fit perfectly in the slots on both parts and almost make it perfectly flat except the edges. But allows for easy cleaning if need be too

I bought the pieces from sparks Toyota. I think the parts costs me around $700. I installed the grill and grill surround myself. Added the rave markers since then. I love it man. My truck looks ten times better now.

 

You can buy the mustache from Toyota that is painted in black?

It doesn't seem that long ago either. I was a Pickle in Basic, and Tech School. But bought BDUs as soon as I was able.
