I finally tied my clarion 12” sub into my factory jbl via lc2 pro converter:amen:. Can’t believe I took so long to do this (I built the size spec’d sealed box about 3 years ago haha). I bought some jbl 2-way 6.5s on sale today too. Will be putting those in the doors tomorrow. I can’t believe it took me for sure like 15 years since I’ve last had bass. Never again. I feel like I have opened Pandora’s box here :spending:

Today I half sound deadened all four doors. I don’t have any acoustic dead-mat to replace the inner-door hollow spaces- I’ll do that later. I used this spray in acoustic stuff for the door skins that I had lying around. I’m highly surprised with the outcome of it. The doors shut and sound like an high end vehicle now. Installed 6x9s into the front doors, I used sash cord to get the 1/8” needed to clear the magnets from the glass. I used all new clips to reattach the door panels. Sounds like a new truck inside :D

Installed a used blackout out climate control module I sourced from a junkyard on eBay. Fan indicator ring is now black, as well as climate knobs. Best part is that it was cheaper than 4 ajt knobs...

After seeing you and and another member install these I'm really wanting to do it myself. However, my map light console is a light gray and on my screen their lights look like a light gray but are listed as "tundra tan" and I'm wondering how "tundra tan" their lights are? Or are they more gray? Can you snap a photo of the light on your console for me?

Tried to install a later model rearview mirror (to get updated homelink version) but it was a fail. the connectors were different.

Also fixed a broken wire to my left rear door speaker. and while I was at it I upgraded my amp to better feed the system. Made a huge difference. Now my system looks like this:

    H/U: Kenwood Excelon DDX9705S Receiver
Interface: Crux SWRTY-61S Toyota Radio Interface W/SWC Retention
    Old Amp: Alpine MRV-V500 (40 watts RMS x 4 at 4ohm + 250 watts RMS x 1 at 2ohm)
    New Amp: Pioneer GM-DX975 (75 watts RMS x 4 at 4ohm + 350 watts RMS x 1 at 4ohm) Class D
Rear Door Speakers: Hertz k170 component (70W)
Front Door Speakers: Hertz k170 component (70W)
Dash Speakers (Left Right): Infinity reference 3022 cfx 3.5 (75W)
Dash Center Speaker: 2x JL Audio C1 tweeters (50W)
    Sub: Pioneer TS-SWX2502 10 inch Shallow-Mount Pre-Loaded Enclosure (300 W 4ohm)
Inverter: Victron Power Inverter 350W Phoenix 12/350 350VA
Sound Enhance: Sound Deadening/rattle stop inner outer door skins x4 and rear cab wall.

The mirror probably just needs power, right? I bet you can figure out which wires are positive and negative and just manually splice them in.

If you can solder, a you can also connect a garage door opener to custom dash switches for a really elegant solution.

Not exactly. I already have a auto-dim/HomeLink/compass mirror which has an approximate 8 or 10 pin connector. The later model mirror I got has a 12-15 pin connector. It's not a huge deal since I have an adapter on my garage door opener that converts HomeLink Ver 1 to the current version that works with my current mirror. I just feel like the converter is a security risk. I have seen the button conversion, which I agree is a great solution, I just feel dumb having mirror buttons that I'm not using. lol.

I just ordered these. I ordered the rear light too. I'm kinda heavy handed and tend to break things so I'll prob take it apart, thank you!

That broken corner on the camera housing is a common failure. You can replace the entire camera/housing for less than $40 from Ebay. I posted a link to it a page or so up.

Are you strategic on where you poke with the needle? It's crossed my mind but I haven't gotten myself to fully commit.

Anybody knows how I can get the auto down feature on the window switches if my truck didn't come with it? Apparently it's not a simple plug and play..

It was simple plug and play for me. Ordered master panel switch from EBay. Works great. Didn't get it for every window but also don't need it for passengers. I'll look for the link for you. It was like a 5 minutes install time.
