Did a couple of things this past weekend:

Washed, clay barred and waxed the truck. I really need to do this more often to protect the clearcoat and paint until we can move into our new house. With 115-degree weather and being 11+ on the UV index daily plus the extremely hard water our here, I really need to do this more often until we move out of here. 4 more weeks! Still hoping I can find a house with an oversized garage or detached shop.

I also had a set of Goodyear Duratrac RTs put on. Caught them on sale at Sam's Club. The OE Michelins still had about 1/3 of the tread on them, but they were starting to show early signs of UV cracking at the bead. Plus, where we're moving, I really wanted tires that were 3 peak rated. After years of lifting and kitting out trucks, I opted for the XL load rating instead of going up to the full-blown E load rating LT Duratrac RT tires. These balanced out great and were smooth on city streets and the highway coming home. So far, so good.

    That’s a nice looking 82

I loved how the hooks were on the outside of the bed, made tying stuff down way easier.

That is my buddy's truck. It is an '83 and is knocking on 600,000 miles.
It is on its second engine, transmission, T-case and rear axle but has been a heck of a truck. He put a 22RE in vs the old 22R. I helped him repaint it 18 years ago.
The payload is 1,200 pounds and a tow rating of 1,000 pounds. That does include operators and fuel. It also states that the payload plus the trailer cannot exceed 2,000 pounds. So, the payload has sort of improved?????? But the ride sure has :)

We drove that to IL a coupe of weeks ago. About three hours on the highway one way. The truck cruises nicely at 72 running about 3,000 rpm. Above 3,000 it starts to drone badly in the cab. At that speed it will do 19 mpg. I bet if I kept my truck at 72, it would get close to that 19mpg.

He has driven it long distances with this on the back. Most recently Southern CA to MI. In this trim, it can only run in 4th :)

Oil change. Made a rookie mistake and left my work light attached to the skid plate after putting my new oil filter in. Luckily my son noticed it still attached a couple hours and 10 miles down the road later. Strong magnets!

Awesome! The boundary waters are absolutely one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Did a multi-day canoe trip when I was a Boy Scout many decades ago. Clear waters, huge fish, moose, and amazing scenery.

Pulled the SRS module. Getting it reprogrammed.

All that work just to remove the module.

Installed the Dasaita G13 Head Unit. I suck at electronics and it took me about an hour. Instantly love it. Way better having Carplay. Stereo is louder now too. Fits perfectly.
Picked up the Milwaukee Inflator. I have the ARB deflator which I deflated tires to about 18psi for the back roads. Soon as I got back on the highway I filled back up to 38psi. Takes about 3 mins per tire which I don't think is too bad.

Yup everything works like factory. Rear camera is a simple plug in. Some of the reviews on here said the speaker for talking on the phone sounds like an echo and is quiet but so far testing it seems fine. I have had it installed for about 1 week now and everythings good.

KO3s installed. Good grief what massive improvement. The truck is comfortable to drive again. Got 64k-ish miles out of the Cepek Trail Countries. They performed fine but as they wore they required balancing with every rotation and they developed one HELL of a loud drone on the highway.
