No I didnt break them I just feel like another $30 is worth it for something that could ruin my window moldings with the adhesive worst case scenario. I agree they are somewhat one of those “old man mods” but could be very useful we’ll see. I think I’ll like them

Are you guys that are running the in-channel versions having any issues w/them shifting around or binding up when the windows go up and down?? @singletrack_dad @JMGmanAZ

I purchased in-channel ones (not the cheapies) for my '19 4Runner, and they were constantly get moved and shifted; even had one that broke part of the lip off which ended up down the window track. Maybe the tolerances were much tighter w/the 4runner :notsure:

Because of that experience, I've stayed away from them on my Tundras...

I have the WeatherTech ones and they've been installed for like 5 years. No issues with them and the windows go up and down almost every time I drive. I mean, they float a little in the channel and "shift" as the glass either contacts or releases from them but I wouldn't call that moving or binding.

I have 15 mins of experience w these so take that for what it’s worth but these have adhesive that keep them seemingly pretty solid in place

I've had my avs in channel for about 3 years and they haven't moved. I had in channel on my tacoma for 6 or 7 years and thought they were great, no issues.

Love them for leaving the windows cracked at the boat launch on summer days without anyone seeing my windows are open or worrying about a stray shower.

The last set I had was on a '16 4R. It took a few weeks for the windows to adjust to them, but after wards no issues.

I do not currently have any on the Tundra.

Minor update: it’s been a few hours since I installed them & my head gasket has blown & someone stole all of my wheels and tires.

jk - for real though I am in love with these and have wanted them on my personal vehicle for years.

Totally agree... in this case it was really free since that can of red paint was sitting in the cabinet since who knows when! :D

I've seen a few trucks and some sports cars with a shackle on the front. It does give the truck/car a different vibe although I prefer a cleaner solution.

It’s almost to the point I would say 75% of “MODIFIED” Toyota trucks have red d-ring shackles hanging from their recovery points.

Installed the AJT cup holder, shifter gate and shifter chrome delete. Easy job and happy I finally got around to doing this. Steer wheel black out tomorrow and I need to find a black shifter.

    Cheers

Far as I made it with the SDHQ Hidden winch mount today. I want to do the handle extension and relocate the control box.

Anyone have pictures and advice for the relocation?

I relocated the control box to sit on top of the cross member behind the grille. It sits low enough that you don’t see it behind the grille.

I want to put the same winch and mount on mine. You’ll have to report back if it makes the front drop any.

I relocated mine (smittybilt 12k) under the hood next to radiator. Made a bracket, bought longer power cables and it works fine.

Nope. No issues with my in-channels and they've been on 4 or 5 years. The rear window deflectors on my truck from Weathertech did come with adhesive strips.

    Too many mods to come
Making my way back to Oregon today. Passed a forest service truck leaving Vegas. On my route I made a few offroading routes linking a few towns together. As I hit a gas station the forest service guy spotted me and said he saw me from the freeway on trail. Pretty funny. Video attached.

    Brand new cabin air filter!
Installed the TRD air intake accelerator. Waiting on my backordered AFE drop in dry air filter.

Got my front windows tinted just now.
