It took forever to get but I finally got my new grill from Sparks. I am done modifying for awhile. At least until black Friday.

I use a collapsable step ladder. Gives you much more leverage to get it up on top and also makes it easier to strap down when it's up there. When done. fold it up and throw it in your bed.

This may be after the fact, but Fumoto does have an adjustable position valve available:

Oh damn, I didn't even think of waiting to see if they'd throw out any Black Friday or cyber Monday deals... I'm guessing they'd be advertising it if they were but oh well.

What lift to you have? I want the same size tires but plan to get a 3/1 lift/level Bilstein kit first...hoping no trimming needed at that point.

I have a 3.5” RC lift in the front. 2” ready lift blocks in the rear. I had 295X70R18 Dick Cepek fun country exp on. No rubbing. I did take front mud flap off beforehand. But, In preparation for the 35’s I did a bmc and flattened the pinch weld. Did I need to do that? Don’t know. But, I know I have room now. And I thought it was kinda fun cutting and grinding.

Stock, with a few cosmetic mods.
I think you’re right, seemingly no adjustment, so far anyway…

Did you have to drop the diff with that 3.5 up font?

    That did the trick!

    PXL_20231123_143330958.jpg

Now I feel much less nervous about an accidental opening (no matter how small those chances may be). I might even switch to a short nose valve next oil change to have it even better tucked up/clear of any potential bumps and bruises.

Interesting, that would definitely resolve that issue, but I'm worried I'd be neurotic about adding another way for the valve to fail (through the swivel). I know it's a small chance, but I'm all about minimizing catastrophic risks. I think if I had a true lift, I'd probably go back to the plug, but as is I'd hate to dump as much oil as I did last change in a driveway.

0C4F6973-FF71-49BC-AFC5-AE723E8586F1.jpg Friday I took off my 20” factory wheels with 275/55r20 tires and replaced them with 2011 Tundra wheels and new BFG KO2’s 275/70r18. The next day I found a guy selling a KO2 tire that was an exact match that I could use as a spare. I’d recently picked up and extra set of 18” wheels from a 2010 Tundra too so I had Discount Tire mount the used spare tire up on one of those wheels. This morning I pulled the factory spare down, sprayed the chain mechanism with PB Blaster and put the new wheel/tire spare in. I wasnt sure if there was a more fitting choice to spray the mechanism, if there is, like white lithium grease or whatever please let me know. It still looked to be in good shape and worked flawlessly. It’s only a 2018 model so I expected it would work fine though, but at least now I know it does. Makes me feel better. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

This is a good idea Rugerla, I've recently purchased a (new to me) 2020 Tundra and I haven't even checked the spare tire situation (I looked at it from underneath the vehicle, but I didn't lower it - the dealer said it was fine, but I definitely need to check for myself). It would be good to get that thing down and make sure it's useable if needed. And I have a spare can of PB Blaster as well.

Yes, I’m glad I went ahead and done it. Also it let me know that all of the attachments were in the Jack kit as well. It was really easy to do, more so than some other vehicles I’ve done this on. This quick chore this morning will make me feel better on a trip knowing I’m prepared. Hopefully I never need it!

Finally had a chance to install my hot tails - thanks @memario1214 !
Tried to take a photo to show the difference - left is the new, right is the old - but the photo really doesn’t do it justice. My friend who was there with me described the new lights as “blinding”

If you’re thinking about doing it - I give it two thumbs up. Easy install, too.

Remove your oem drain bolt and replace with the Fumoto Valve. There are different options of the valves depending on what vehicle you have and what the orientation of the drain is. Once installed, all you have to do is remove the safety clip and move the lever to allow the oil to drain. I have been using these for about 20 years with no issues what so ever. Makes changing the oil very easy and eliminates the mess from the oil.

I climbed through it today First time I've been in it in over a week. Hard to reach things on the far side wall when the truck is parked in the garage, but it's cold, I wasn't opening the overhead, and the backseat is a heck of a pass thru.

Finally got around to installing the RCI Catalytic Converter shields. I’ve had these for a few months and kept forgetting about them. Also ordered the fuel tank skid - I’ll be sure to post that install in April 24.
