Are you trying to change to a different insert style as well or just the main goal to color match?

My Cement baby! Will have to wash it and get some more detailed photos of everything that I have poured into this puppy. I had a 2016 and traded it in for the 21 when the pandemic hit and I know the last V8 was being produced. I knew exactly what I was going to do to this one after going the cheap route on my first truck. Very happy and proud of this bad boy! I’ve posted the new OEM chrome face, suspension, and exhaust that I took off of this one to replace with TRD cosmetics and 2.5” FOX Reservoir suspension. Drives better than when I took it off the lot

I like the stance and height. You say that's a 2.5" lift. What size tires are those.

I’ve got no real issue with my grille but would like to get rid of the chrome surround and bulge.

No sir. These are the 4" suspension lift FOX shocks that are 2.5" in diameter. That's the largest ones offered for a Toyota. I had to get the adjustable upper control arms to make all that fit. Otherwise you can only fit a 33 tire. On my last truck, I wanted to do a 35 tire but I did a 6" lift with 2" body lift to be able to fit the tires, worse thing I could have done. I bought the rough country set up to save a buck. I can't describe how my truck drives in comparison to the whole body lift and all that. They did have to cut and roll a very small section of the fender all the way at the bottom and the inside of the bumper plastic but I didn't care. When I was told that they had to do some cutting on my first truck, I told them no and that was why I had to do the body lift. Totally worth it but make sure you have the right people do that work. Not your guy on every other block.

Removed the 60 rear seat section. May still remove the single seat at some point. I swapped the seat bottom brackets. The one under the single seat has an extra bracket to support the other seat and I didn't want it to stick out. It's the same bracket, you just have to cut off the locator pin. I didn't feel like waiting for paint to dry, so I just covered the marks from the cutoff wheel with tape, so seal it off for now.
Next on the list is to remove the front center seat, then build a raised platform in the back for storage and to set tool boxes on and for the dogs to sit on. Then a custom console, arm rest up front. Gotta stare at it for a while and wait for ideas to come from,.....wherever those come from.

Knocked out a few more of my mods that have been collecting dust.

First up was removing the last chrome piece on my truck and installing the pop lock at the same time. Easy install took less then an hour.

While I was under there I went ahead and extended the diff breather to behind the tail light. In this pic you can see the brackets that hold my brake lines, these were extended when I installed the extended brake line kit from sdhq.

Next was the ajt black steering wheel trim pieces. Let's see how long it takes for my OCD to kick in and I sharpie the volume buttons black.

Lastly I'm working on installing my switch panel, I ordered the sdhq shifter trim with the hole cut already. Just needed to transfer my black trim over to it before installing it. Tomorrow I'll try and get the module installed under the hood and work on connecting everything to it.

Thanks. It will be plywood and similar.
I'll probably come up with something overly complicated and involved, spend a weekend getting it 40% complete, then just use it as is for 4 yrs until it's ruined. That's typically how my projects go.
I'm picturing removing the center front seat/console, then making a one piece raised platform that's about the hieght of the seats. It will cover the rear and flow out over the tranny hump between the front seats. There'll be a raised armrest on top of that, storage inside and hinged lids in the back to store straps, cables, etc and a big flat surface on top for bigger items like tool boxes and whatever I'm carting around. And the dogs will be able to hang out back there on a nice flat surface and able to look out the windows without scratching the crap out of the plastic door panels. I'm thinking of a finished panel on the back wall too, to possibly mount the inverter and DC-DC charger.
I haven't thought about any of the details yet. I'll have to pull the center seat out and see what's under it. I'm also considering rerouting the heater vent under the driver seat to the back window somehow.

I swapped out my leaking Falcons for some Icon 2.5 VS IR...23" hub to fender on front and 24" on the rear; I dropped the front down x8 revolutions on DS and x12 revolutions on PS for a 1.25" lift (1/8" actual lift per revoltion)...crappy photo of end result but you get the drift... I'm happy to not bounce anymore!

How many miles did you get out of the Falcons, and were you part of @French Avocado group buy?

The first round of swapping was 6k miles and 1 full year...the second round of warranty swap, which made me make the change, was 9k miles and literally another 12 months. I am keeping the Falcon rears. They are a great upgrade from stock but extreme cold climates do not work on the o-rings' seals...(-30°- -40°)...My experience with their customer service has been terrific. Yes, I was part of the group buy.

I will be selling the brand new Falcon fronts with factory 35k coils set to whatever the buyer wants this week...great shocks for non-winter-laden locations.

Gotcha so in extreme cold they don't hold up well. But in mild climates they seem fine? I remember you saying Falcon already acknowledged the Tundra line had flaws.

    Hopefully mine hold up.

Yes sir...if above 0° you're good to go, too much washing of your truck and letting sit outside can cause issues during winter climates. Also, if you live and drive in very below freezing temps and than park in a heated garage, that causes unfavorable movement (shrink, swell) of the o-rings that seal the oils in. Most will be totally fine and happy...only a few have had issues...knowing the limits is half the battle...they did represent their products well with their customer service...but Teraflex is now for sale...and most of the GB warranties expire April 13, 2023...food for thought.

Dang. That's unfortunate. Guess I'll have to keep an eye on mine. I've got a squeek I can't stand, but besides that they have been great.

I had a squeak too...finally figured out it was my LBJ needing more grease...I bought a grease syringe adapter on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Plews-05-037...=&sr=1-1-3a65484d-1c95-4bed-b564-9469fdeef107 and squeezed x3 squeezes of moly lube and it instantly went away and was SO easy to do...try it and be happier!

Today's job was to rid my console of that fake chrome that blinds me when the sun is in the right position. I used SEM 39143 black trim (rattle can) after a nice 400 grit sanding and some primer. It came out perfect.

Extremely tedious. Can only do on a hot day, when the plastic is soft. I broke half of them when removing the bumper for rust treatment. This time I broke the rest. What sucks, you don't have any access to 2 clips (only 2 I think?), so need to pull it up. And they break, of course.

This bumper asks for replacement. Especially if you take it off the pavement.

You’re gonna post all of these wonderful ‘in progress’ pictures and no pictures of the final product? For shame I tell you! I hope you like that kit. I’m eye balling it hard myself.

Gave it the first hand wash of the year. Costco carwash is $8 but it was closed today and my truck was filthy from being in Mexico last week. So many bugs.

Your Costco has a car wash?! I've never seen one in several states.
