Well Hooked it up to my Autel (MS908) had the air pump codes I ran it through some cycles and cleared it... the truck has been making that vacuum cleaner sound since 2009-2010 since my father purchased it has always had full power and still has the same power as far as I can tell (had been about 7-8 years since I'v driven it).. I cleared the maintenance light and got one of the TPMS monitors (ID 1) to initialize.. so no lights on the dash atm going to keep driving and see if I get any silent DTC's pop up... Cosmetically I spend about 40 minutes pressuring washing truck and 6 hours cleaning interior bringing it back to life will have pictures soon hopefully

AIP system sucks. Earlier this year I kept getting air pump codes. You can go with Hewitt or wire up a relay to trick the ecu to bypass them from coming on. I'm cheap and did the AIP override been good for 6 mos.

Did you block off the pipes going to the exhaust manifolds? If you don’t the heat from the exhaust can cause the pressure sensors in valves to fail this will throw a code

thanks!...ordered the $155 free shipping Hewitt Kit.... it's a deal for that money.. this truck is paid for and i just broke 130k on it this week I want to have it as long as they keep producing gas LOL

I got a gallon of Hitech Factory Base Coat - Toyota Super White ($101 Bucks Shipped probably because it's a solid color lol) ... so eventually when I get some other things in life out of the way ill take a day or 2 and give her a new paint job just have to decide what clear im going to use.. Nason XL (made by the former Dupont Co) is pretty good stuff we use in the collision industry

oh and I had it up in the air today.. looked awsome for being almost a 17 y/o vehicle I did notice on the tail shaft of the tranny a very little amount of fluid there where the yoke goes in, will have some pictures later... everywhere else was bone dry except the normal shock seepage that would be on way younger vehicles... BTW looks like the tranny mount got melted at some point? WTF?

    Go Toyota!! lol

The Gen 2 kit is $450 and pump bypass another $225.
I think you got a Gen 1 kit if you paid $155. 2007 is Gen 2

Hewitt definitely ripped off their product from independents who posted their diagrams on other forums. I have one dates 3 years before Hewitt produced their “own” and it’s identical to the free write up off online forum that it was posted on

There is also Rutech Solutions. They took over where it got left off when Hewett got in the game too.
Rutech does best on the early year models I believe up to 2010. It's good for all model years but some later years reported getting codes after a year.

I have the same truck with 5.7, rebuilt the tranny at 175k(which i think is rare). I bought it new, still have it at 185k plus now.
pricey but with the covid car price increase at the time. It was worth it. She has a few scrapes but she is 17.

My 07 had the same weep. Found out(too late) there was a service bulletin. Had an independent repair shop replace with genuine parts and never had that problem. Bought mine used in 2008 with 7500 miles with 140K now. Relatively trouble free.

Hard to say. When I first noticed it, fluid was weeping from what I would call the splined shaft looking inside the u-joint area. First time I sprayed contact cleaner, dried well, and mixed JB weld(yeah, I know). Actually held up(no weeping) for over three years.
