I am part of a company that puts in automation into warehousing. The majority of our clients are beer distributors. So, i am often found inside a cold AF warehouse, making sure beer is moving correctly.

 

Grab me a pallet or 2

 

I’m a reefer nerd. We built lots of cold storage for school districts, even a freezer for the stupid dolphin park in the basin(pretty sure they all died)

 

funny story, I figured free beer would be a major perk of the job since I literally see them handing it out all the time. To me, so far I have received 2 cans in almost 2 years... f'ers....

 

nice! I am a supply chain nerd, among other hobbies i classify with as "closet nerd."

The cooled part of this is very interesting to me because i spend my career in either "climate controlled warehouse" where the climate controls the warehouse, or gently chilled facilities. But to be in ones that stay frigid, across 500K+sqft.... now that is interesting. We also have coolers inside the warehouse, and those are miserable to be in.

 

I think that’s my favorite one.

We had this one job that was some sort of storage transfer warehouse for military goods, basically normal things like Wd40 but in barrels and it was called something different. They were very picky about temps in the freezer(it has to defrost at some point…….) they claimed they had a couple million $ worth of product in the freezer that couldn't deviate more than a few degrees; literally two pallets with no more than 20lbs on each one of who knows what inside

Hard to say, but I know I have seen some "required" purchases on the DOD side that were over bought just to burn through a budget.
