Hey, hoping some of you can give me some estimates on what my SnugTop is worth off my 2005 DC? I’ve looked all over online but no place will ever give a price rather you have to get a quote, which makes me think these things are rather spendy? I don’t want mine or plan to use it, in fact it’s going to get in the way, and I also live in AK where shipping is insane and big bulky items like this are hard to come by so trying to get a read on what I could sell this for perhaps from somebody who’s purchased one?

    Thanks!

I paid $800 for my color match snugtop on offer up. Took me about a month to find

I had to replace the rear brake light, new lock, and rear window latch’s and the paint clear coat was peeling.

I should have paid $600. Your probably can get 800-1k from the right person.

It really all depends on the condition and brand whether you'll get tirekickers around here. Also, your topper will literally only fit another Double cab correctly, it's too short for Access cab and waaaay too short for regular cab trucks. Your bed is only 6'2", Access cab is closer to 6'5" and Regular cab a few inches more than that.

If the paint clearcoat is failing, it's been drilled/modified, if it's dusty/mildewy, if there are any cracks or chips, and the type of windows/windoors are what I'm looking for. In my personal experience, SnugTop does a shit job on their finishes. I made them take back a SnugLid once on my '03 Sierra and give me one with a better finish, it was almost like it had cottage cheese under it. A.R.E. is king in the topper world, but Leer also makes solid product. SnugTop is a little farther down in the line for me.

As someone that's been casually hunting for quite a while, I'd ballpark $400-600 for a quick-medium sale based on what I'm seeing. If you go $700+ I honestly believe you'll be sitting on it for weeks or months, even in Alaska.

If it were me, I'd list it at $700 on FB Marketplace and Craigslist and see what happens. If no joy in 2 weeks, drop it $100, then rinse/repeat 'til its gone.

Is life without a topper, life? I couldn't go back. The ability to have loads of weather free storage in your truck (especially in Alaska) is priceless. Or around $6-800, which I would pay to put one on my 2000. Then If I sold my travel trailer I could sell my 2019 and keep living the shell life.

I asked this question to the Leer/ARE dealer when I was getting the topper for my 21 Tundra since, at the time, I still had my old Silverado with its Leer topper purchased in 2008. The dealer's response was "1/2 to 2/3 of the current new price depending on condition". Supply chains were a little stressed then, and waits for toppers were sometimes 3-4 months. Some that will depend on whether the supply chain has gotten any better since then.
