Well I guess I’m the next idiot that majorly messed up installing these dang afe tow hooks. I did everything by hand, used a hand wrench reverse threaded the bolt to make sure I was not cross threading. It seems I still cross threaded the top bolt. It’s tight but won’t turn anymore there’s a gap. I don’t want to force it anymore so I’m headed to my local mechanic shop for assistance. I don’t have any tools to re thread or clean threads so hopefully a professional can help lol. Im feeling pretty bummed this should have been and easy job, kicking myself now.
Here are some pics has anyone had this happen? Any suggestions or solutions for this? Thanks

Haven't had this issue or worked on the sway bar brackets, but that plastic cap on the frame in your picture is covering a hole in your frame. Take that out get a set of long needle nose and you might be able to get enough grip on it to take it off, since you just hand threaded it. Get the welded nut out. Get a new nut with good threads, then take a stick or wire and hot glue it to it. Place it back in the hole and hand thread again until it tightens down enough to hold itself while tightening down fully.

That's a temporary fix though because it will be very hard to get out again.

More permanent fix would be a weld nut or a welded stick nut that will leave a metal tab attached to the nut for you to grab inside the frame if you want to loosen it again.
