Has anyone else noticed welds around the rear fender well showing through? This is a silver 2024 1794 edition that I have only had for 3 days. Do you think this is acceptable? Of course this is something that’s hard to get a picture of, but I have attached one for reference. Thank you for any input.

    Welcome from NY.

Go back to the dealership and look at some other Tundra's then go inside and have your issue documented and hopefully the address the problem. You paid good money for that truck and you should be happy with your Tundra.

Those marks are where the plastic clips are holding the fender flair down. Mine are more visible when it gets cold and the plastic shrinks, when it gets warmer and the plastic expands it's not as noticeable.

There are no welds near that area. The flare is plastic and the bed is stamped aluminum

You’re most likely experiencing from the typical sub-par Toyota paint. If you’re not happy with it, take it to the dealer and let them know

That is not acceptable on any new vehicle. Add in how much you paid for it.

The higher the price the better the quality should be.

Don’t look down the side of your truck around the door handles, the stamping process has the metal all distorted. What you are seeing is normal on a modern vehicle. Thin is in as they say

It sucks, but I know the dealer probably can't/won't fix it. The plastic is just too thin and flimsy on the painted fender flairs.

Only way to fix that is to hide it. You want body putty ?

    Lots of stuff!
This sounds like a good opportunity to put some TRD Pro flares on and get that camo look!

The plastic flares are quite flimsy like many have said. Take it to your dealership and see what they suggest and go from there. It may be that they can use a bit of body filler and repaint but I think that would just make it worse. Keep in mind that these are not an expensive item and can be swapped out in minutes so the dealership shouldn't balk about swapping it out to keep you happy.

I would just be concerned about a slight difference in the color.

Throw a lift and 37s on it then beat it up a bit in the woods and rock climbing, no one will notice then.

My Platinum has the same "issue"...It is normal and because the flares on our models are painted a dark color and is shiny.... Models with white painted flares, not as noticeable... Models with the black/dark grey texturized plastic, it is not noticeable at all... Slightly surprising and disappointing?? Yes....BUT there are worse things to worry about....Just be happy you don't have a new F-150....rattles and strange noises, GALORE!
