so every so often when I turn the key to turn on the truck it makes a winding noise for a second then it will start. Also yesterday I turned the key to start the truck but no winding noise and it took about a second to turn on. IDK what it can be. I don't think it's the starter because the truck starts everytime

How old is your battery? Have you check the battery posts and wires for corrosion/tightness? And it could be the starter going out, is it original and how many miles on the truck?

Sounds like the starter is going out.
