Ok so I have a little bit of a weird problem I’m hoping someone can help me solve.

So last night I was going to upgrade my footwell lights to a brighter LED from the dim blue ones that are on my 2024 Tundra Hybrid Limited trim.

So I went underneath the driver side and located the blue led currently plugged in. I unplugged it and saw it was a circuit board style with two metal prongs that plug into a two prong plug from the harness. One prong is (+) and one prong is (-). So, to test the new LED I placed the corresponding wires to the correct port in the female plug from the harness and the LED turned on perfectly.

So, I went to the back of my truck to my toolbox to grab some more solid connectors…because how I was testing it the wires just fall out without me holding them in place. So when I walked back to the front and discovered an issue…the new LED was not even connected to the plug or anything. So right away I noticed my dome lights and both driver and passenger footwell lights were not on and would not come on even when toggling the (off-door-on) switch by the front map lights. However, I noticed some accent lights were still working which I thought was odd. So basically:

Lights that are NOT working are:

    1. Front and rear overhead dome lights/map lights
    2. Driver and passenger side footwell lights

    Lights that still work are:

    1. Blue leds in center console
    2. Blue led under radio that shines on the wireless charger
    3. Blue LED near the SOS button in the center of that map light assembly

    So far I have:

    1. Replaced both DOME and DOME CUT fuses at the fuse box under the glove box (even though neither appeared to be blown)

    2. Stopped and restarted the truck and closed all doors and opened them just in case there was like some timer issue that turned them off.

    3. Unhooked the negative on the battery for a couple minutes and hooked it back up to see if that would reset something

    4. Visibly inspected the plug where I was testing the LED and looked at wires and nothing appears abnormal.

There are no notices that pop up, no check engine lights, and everything else appears to be operating perfectly fine in the truck.

So at this point I’m open to suggestions of other things to try…or maybe somebody knows of another fuse to check or something that could be causing this issue? I tried googling for info about this but I haven’t had much luck…

    What’s wrong with stock?
Did you check the switch below the steering wheel to the left?

Could you imagine, after all that trial and error all he needed to do was push a button.

I worked on a car once. Issue was the owner couldn't roll down the passenger window of his 300zx. Was messing with the windows when pulling the car around fixed it by pushing the window lock button right next to the window switch.

OP have you tried putting the original light back in? I think the overhead lights are on a separate circuit than the blue accent lights.
