How does one replace the Driver side Weatherstrip on a crew cab limited 2006?
Part number 68172-00020 - It goes on the outer left front door glass.

Is that the Toyota part number or the part number from an aftermarket company? I searched Toyota and couldn't locate 68172-00020.

I don't think so the original number was scratched out.

It might be a cross reference part to Lexus. I notice on the paper work it said that it was an original part.

Never replaced an outside weatherstrip before, but have removed the inside door panel cover to work on other items inside the door such as tightening the window tracks and sound proofing.

I think you’ll have to remove the inside panel to access the bolts to remove that weather strip you refer to with your window rolled down.

Youtube search how to remove the door panels and it will make sense.

I have taken the suggestions of looking for a youtube video and I sort of came up with a solution.
Here are the steps I will need to do in order to replace the outside weather trim.
    1. remove inside door panel.
    2. remove side view mirror.
    3. pull trim on outside up starting at the mirror location out to the end of the track.
    4. do the reverse.
