    Thats pretty slick.
I've seen the ones that you can hook up to a heat exchanger in your truck.
    The engine heats the water.
Have a portable water heater that works off the small propane bottles like you use for a lantern.
Nothing better than a hot shower before bed when you're camping!!!
Especially at the beach....assuming you aren't sunburned.

We always kept a wash tub with water in it at the tent door.
That way you weren't tracking sand into the tent.
Learned all kinds of tricks over the years that made Beach Camping bearable.
If you didnt take precautions camping at the beach is a miserable experience!!!
The obvious key was keeping clean.
Putting Baby Powder/Talcum Powder on you before bed also helped immensely!!
With the high humidity the sand and salt would stick to you and no amount of trying to brush it off helped.
It would come right off using powder.

Had a custom canvas tent made with a sock and drawstring about two foot off the floor.
You'd set a window unit on a small table and use a generator to run it.
Spent a crap load of money for the tent A/C unit and a Honda generator to run it.
You'd wet down the tent before bed and fire up the A/C and with the high Humidity the tent would stay wet all night.
You could hang meat in the thing!!!
Another plus was the A/C unit would make five gallons of water every night from the condensation.
You'd put a five gallon bucket under it and you had all the wash water you needed and then some.
Showered with it,washed dishes, wet down the tent.
I suppose in a pinch you could drink it.
We'd stay out there for a couple of weeks at a time.
And with it being a National Seashore there were no houses and it was an island so you wouldnt see a soul other than the occasional truck or jeep driving down the beach to get to the pass to go fishing.
Even with binoculars you couldnt see anyone.
And the Fishing is Crazy since there was zero pressure on em.
We'd haul the sit on top kayaks out there and get past the breakers and fish the cuts between sand bars.
You'd also see HUGE Manta Rays leaping out of the water!! They were easily 10 feet across!!
Learned later that they do this to knock off parasites.
Also came across a Great White Shark that was longer than my 16ft Kayak.
He swam right up to me and nudged my Kayak!! Guess He was seeing if it was something he might want to eat.
    I was SHITTING BRICKS!!!!
It's one of the last truly Wild Places I know of.
And best of all you gotta have four wheel drive so that really limits the crowds.
As in there are no crowds.
    Dammit!!
This is making me want to go out there again!!
Unfortunately the Wife doesnt want to deal with all the work it entails to do it.

Oh...the island is just over 60 miles long.
First time we went I figured a full tank of gas would be plenty.
I didnt take into account the shitty gas mileage from driving in the sand.
Got stranded about 40 miles from the beach entrance on the way out.
Thankfully a Guy came by and gave enough to get back.
