About two weeks ago I gave my vehicle its first deep clean in a long time and pulled up the mats to find moisture had accumulated under the weather tech mats. There were no puddles but the mats had water on the underside as well as the floor having droplets of water. This was under the rear seats and passenger side mats. After find I removed the water with the carpet/area cleaner I had rented and removed all water. Today I had checked under the mats and found more water. Does anyone know what causes this? I do not have a sunroof nor have I left any windows open during any rain. I use my A/C a fair amount but not excessively so I do not believe that is the issue. I have uploaded photos of the condensation build up.

What year is your truck? After using the ac then parking, do you notice a wet spot under tranny? Its possible the ac drain is clogged and its accumulating then finding a way out.

The Tundra is weird. The ac drain in directly above the transmission. You may have to park on a large incline in order to see a puddle under the truck. That's what I have to do anyway, especially since I have cat plates too.

clogged A/C drain most likely. possible heater core leak if any coolant smell.

Since it's in the rear and under the seats also, the first thing I would look at is the rear window seal. I would pull out the back seat and peel back the carpet in the back, then hose the entire area to see if there are any leaks/seepage. Also spray between the bed and the cab there's vents on the sides near the top that could possibly leak also. Good luck.

I’ve sprayed water in the ac condenser drain under the truck and have not gotten any water to come out. Not sure where else my issue could be. I did have my windshield replaced a few months ago but have not seen any water on the dash

certainly could be bad windshield seal, but a/c drain most likely

Any other way of unclogging the drain? I’ve blown compressed air and gotten nothing out of it. Anywhere else I can try to access the drain from?

Park on level ground and run it, see if it drips out after about 5-8 min

What am I missing here? The rear rug is wet, right? Is it wet under the front mats also?

If the front passenger floor board is wet as well, it’s definitely the ac drain being clogged, if it’s just the rear there is something else going on

depending on your year the ac drain is right on top of the transmission, two 10mm bolts and you can pull the plastic cover off, once you’ve done that water should come out, sometimes the pieces get misaligned and clogged; there are a couple YouTube videos on it

Looks impossible to get up into there, barely room to get the compressor nozzle into there with a long extension on it. Abby recommendations on how to get up there?

Yeah it sucks, I’ve had to do it on a customers car, squeeze your hands in there to unbolt it, once that’s done it has plastic clips that hold it in place, you’re gonna have to try and pull it down; it’s a real PITA, in my case spraying air into it did not clear the entire clog

What if I decide to leave it out after removing it is that a terrible idea? I think I’ll be able to get it back in if I remove it but if not don’t wanna leave it out if it’ll create issues.

I removed mine after it got clogged. I did it from the passenger side with a small 10mm ratchet. You can’t actually see it when doing it, just by feel. It’s difficult and a PITA. I have no idea why Toyota did it that way.

Easy and fast $$$ for dealerships without corporate parts production, storage, and logistics. After unclogging, they probably run some fans in the cab to dry it up on the surface for even more easy $$ too.

I have no doubts the job would be 5 times easier with a lift.

It’s actually not that much easier, it’s nice cause you can stand but still a PITA because of the lack of space

Would be a million times easier to just unbolt the back transmission cross member and lower it down a little bit, there’s pivot room built into the mounts
