Water pump help maybe timing belt

Older friend wants me to order what ever he needs. He does not use the internet much and I always help him out. He has a very good mechanic friend that will do the work.

And 4 years ago he bought my old 2000 Tundra V6.
Anyway we know he needs a new water pump.

So a water pump and gasket. That part easy.

But with the work involved. What else would be a good idea to change? And would be needed. I will order online for the better pricing.
Timing belt and is that another gasket?

Tundra now has 110K miles.
5 years ago at 95K miles the timing belt was replace by me at a local shop. Which at the time, was to include everything recommended. Including the water pump. At the time I bought a kit of ebay. Which was suppose to be all OEM parts.

What do you recommend?

Make sure it fits, that’s for an automatic transmission V6, I believe it’s a different part number for the manual

 

Yes is auto trans.

But a little worried about the review on that kit. copy below

"The timing belt in this kit is a Mitsuboshi which is correct but the water pump is a cheap Chinese knockoff it does fit correctly and for the Tundra 3.4 which does not have an oil cooler it is also correct not having a coolant port Aisin water pumps have their name stamped on them the name on this has been ground off ."

 

the aisin kits are all OEM. the ground off name is the toyota casted into it since they cant sell it with toyota still cast into the metal. just make sure to get the correct kit. theres a kit with oil cooler and without oil cooler. the difference is the pump will have a hose coming off it that goes to the oil cooler on the engine

 

There’s other websites that sell the Aisin kit, that’s the correct part #. But go with what you’re comfortable with. Good luck.

 

If your not comfortable with reviews on the aisin kit from Amazon. Do what I did, order the parts individually from an OEM dealer (the don't sell them as a kit) that has great online ordering and shipping prices. I used Toyota of Cool Springs (they no longer do online ordering) but others do.

 

This is what I did. Get a list of the kit parts, and then order individually directly from Toyota to get OEM. Probably a sale going on for Independence day.

Off the top of my head, water pump, timing belt, serp belt, thermostat, idler arm, gaskets and seals, may as well flush the radiator too.
