Just washed my 6 week old 23 Limited and noticed water dripping from the rear dome light. It doesn’t have the panoramic roof. So I climbed up into the bed and I can grab the shark fin and it will rock back and forth without much pressure and every time it does water comes out from under the fin so I’m assuming that’s where it’s getting into the truck? The truck has been through rain several days and I didn’t notice it leaking until I washed the truck earlier today.

Anyone else run into this and if so what was the fix/solution?

And before you ask, no it wasn’t a drive through car wash it was a do it yourself with the pressure wash sprayer…

You lucky it isn't a Cadillac. A couple of videos are making its rounds where Cadillac includes a free waterfall feature with every new SUV.

Anyways, shark fin might be loose and second how much pressure does your pressure washer have? Kinda the reason I don't care for pressure washers, it will force water in places where regular hose won't. Anyways sounds like warranty time.

it was one of the self car wash places so not sure on pressure but it was decent pressure.

Right after I saw it I took it to the closest dealer and they told me they would have to pull the headliner down and have “a specialist” from Toyota come and look at it which isn’t an option for me right now because I am not going to be here next week. I’m gonna have to call some dealers next week and see if I can set something up…

That said he tried to tell me that it was probably damaged during transport and the roof is bowed and I said I climbed up there and the roof isn’t bowed and he said we’ll I’ve never seen one just leak… So the guy wasn’t the most helpful.

Yeah well, most dealers aren't helpful and talk shit out of their ass. Also if you can't get it in to a dealer anytime soon then I would look into adding some silicone or something to the shark fin just incase its from there. No need to further damage the truck.

This happened to mine! Repeatedly catastrophic water leak unable to be resolved after multiple dealer visits. Actually in the final process of getting the truck replaced.
