I recently had to disconnect my factory trailer wiring connector under the vehicle by the spare tire. When I unplugged the unit I found that water had gotten inside of it and poured out. The vehicle has never been in water at this point. Any ideas? Wiring seems to work OK but concerned about the water being inside the round plug.

I have had this happen on other Toyota vehicles just not my Tundra yet. I would blow as much as the water out and try to dry the connections as best as possible. Then I would put a decent amount of electrical grease on it. It a PITA because everything will have grease on it but I have never had serious problems with my connections. My FIL does the same thing because he consistently dropping into to salt water (boat). You should be okay…
