I had found a leak after I bought my used 22. I ripped out the carpet and padding. what I found is 4 grommets up the firewall. 1 had dislodged and I'm thinking that happened from freezing water. I removed the lowest one and water came out. I tried fishing a wire down assuming it was a plugged up passage but its sealed. this area appears to be a stiffening panel for the firewall. pulled my left front wheel liner and can see the area. attempted to water test and it seems to be coming down the cowl area. I tried to tape up any factory holes in the upper rail but still happening. I think removing the wipers and cowl panel is next. it's very frustrating as I haven't had carpet in my truck now for months... kinda lame for sure. don't want to rely on the rubber grommet to hold the water back and would rather stop water from getting in there in the first place. local dealer claims to have never heard or seen of this problem before.

This is a known issue in some 22s. Happened to my truck and they were able to fix it by re sealing and replacing the grommets. All the carpeting was replaced as well since there was mold.
