Have any of you had issues with wasps making nests all over the engine compartment? I was installing a transmission cooler and my daughter commented, “Dad why are there rocks all by the engine?” I had multiple nests. I don’t want to spray chemicals that kill them all over engine and wiring.

I normally spray mint oil to keep the rodents out.

And ideas how to address this (outside of driving more lol…)?

Soapy water in a spray bottle, dawn and water. Kills them almost instantly, works on bees too. If large hive, soapy water in a bucket.
I know for bees its better to relocate or wait for them to move on, but sometimes you just gotta get rid of them.

One of my concerns is that they make nests on the wiring. They are leaving one way or the other! I don’t want damage to that or anything else really.

Just killed this nest about 15 wasps. Soapier water is better. Something about the soap suffocating them.

Many years ago a bee removal guy told me this simple and easy trick when he couldnt come out. I thought he was setting me up at first, but it works great.

    Hidden secrets.
Black before yellow is a sweet fellow.
Yellow before black, you better stay back.

So easy to tell them apart for that sweet honey.
