Hello, got 200k out of my 2nd gen SR5 so time to upgrade to a 2025 Limited. Upon reading the posts regarding TRD upgrades I think I will just have an aftermarket lift and shock package installed.

Question: the salesman states that aftermarket does NOT void any warranties. I will be purchasing the extended 100k warranty. Anyone have experience with having to use warranties with aftermarket mod's? Thanks, JB

    None....
Aftermarket warranty will void some parts for warranty with a lift. Like a wheel bearings, or ball joints, cv axles. I seen factory warranty deny a claim because a guy had a orange construction strobe light laying on his back seat. You have to read all the fine print. Even then warranties companies make money when they deny claims, not pay them. I had a dealer claim I could buy their 3k warranty and it would cover all breakdowns and tire damage and paint scratches for a truck I was buying to work out of. He printed the warranty up it said

    1. Absolutely no business or commercial use will be coved. The warranty will be voided if its not for personal use only. I told him no thanks, he pretty much said I was stupid for reading the contract and I should give them 3k for the warranty because it will cover my work truck.

I bought a factory extended warranty that promised rental cars, hotel rooms, bumper to bumper coverage. They refused to pay a penny towards rental car when truck had failed lifters. That warranty company ALLY refused to pay 300 bucks and made sure they kept every penny of what I paid.

The people at the dealer get commission on the warranty they will say alot of things to sell it.

An argument can be made to deny coverage on anything the lift causes to be out of factory spec. If the horn quits working it has nothing to do with the lift but if you have a CV joint failure well...the lift changed the angle of that CV joint.
