Vinyl Sticke Fade

Hello All

Just wondering if any of you experience this because I had no clue that vinyl fades over time ... DUH? Below is a pic of my tailgate and you can see that I used to have Bronze Vinyl in two places but the tailgate has faded so much that you can barely see it now. I'm gonna pull it off and re-order but just wanted to ask if this is something I should expect again in the future or it depends on the quality of the vinyl. Thanks in advance.

in socal im not surprised it faded and i wouldnt expect them to last more than 2 or 3 years with our sun, especially if your truck lives outside like mine.

 

Maybe a UV protectant of some kind would help on future decals.

 

thanks all for chiming in. Just as I suspected. And Yes ... it was only 20 bones. No hurt no harm. I will replace every 3-4 years .. no big deal.

I did find my original invoice and was purchased on 08/22/18 so it lasted roughly 4 years.

Yes ... Im in Santa Clarita so full on hot blazing sun which gets up to 110s LOL

 

wouldnt know .. i debadged and peeled off all the stickers when i first purchased my truck. i guess i can look at the inside of the door jam to compare. LOL

 

I contacted Rich at TVD Vinyls that we on this forum probably know and he responded. This is good to know if you want vinyls that is warrantied. Obviously, I will be ordering from him going forward and not from some random ebay vinyl seller again.

 

@rrentrop is a great dude and I’ve always had good luck with his vinyl.

 

I’ve bought his Tundra sticker inlay and mountain from Etsy. Has held up great so far and looks great.
