Looks like a nice private and peaceful yard. I like how you have an open area and an area with nice big old trees. Forgive my ignorance but what is that underground thing left of your deck?

 

Storm shelter/zombie defense hq/beer drinking pit......

Seriously its a storm shelter, tornado ally is no place to be without one.

 

Very intersting and very cool. I've never seen one before. We don't get too many tornadoes up here in CT. We get maybe a 8-12 little ones that touch down per year, actually had 3 last week that caused some serious damage.

 

I grew up in Groton, off the sub base back in the 70s.

I have seen small tornadoes and some that were a mile wide, think moore ok. They are nothing to mess around with. I live in the county, and theres no where to go, I had this put in about 13 years ago.
