I’m not sure why Scotty’s always mad at me. Good explanation of what’s wrong, although it’s been discussed here a lot already. If your flex fuel truck has hard starts or runs poorly, it’s the stored ALC%. Resetting it will usually make the symptoms go away.

When I was buying mine I was always asking "Is this Flex Fuel?" and at first it was SURE! I told them I would not by a Flex Fuel so it was a long day and I do not know how many times I asked different people. I never heard of any of the Flex Fuels ever lasting long before it malfunctions

My buddies 2016 platinum is flex fuel at about 126k with no issues. My BILs 2016 SR5 is also FF and he has had the hard starting problems.

Chalk me into the "2016 5.7 FFV and problem-free" group.

Any time you add a complexity or feature it adds the ability to fail, but that doesn't make the whole truck a lemon lol. Run it on normal fuel and you'll see normal longevity.

my 16 started to have hard start issues when very cold with 102k miles. i found that it was showing 70% alcohol. i never used any of that crap in my truck. i reset it with tech stream and ran the tank almost empty and refilled with non eth gas problem went away.
