    Hello guys,

I am a proud owner of a 2014 4x4 TRD OFF ROAD for almost 4 years now.

    77k miles

Recently after having the rear window down for my dog to enjoy the wind, I heard a rather odd noise coming from my pickup.

It only happens when under load. It also happens if it's in four wheel drive also.

    I have checked the following:

    U-joints - nice and tight & re-greased
Carrier bearing - looked good, no play
Rear diff fluid - changed about 25k ago
fluid looked good and was at proper level
Wheel bearings - no play in wheels in any direction
Brakes - checked pads, rotors, dust cover for debri, and calipers - all good

My friend (also a Tundra owner) sat in the back seat and stuck his head out the big back window to listen. He says it's definitely in the mid to rear part of the truck.

I am at a loss. It literally sounds like a peckerhead put a zip tie on my drive line.

I know the video sound isn't great but it's the best I can do. I wish I had a gopro.

I wish. But noise only happens under load. I've tried parking and revving to re-create the noise and it doesn't happen.

Only when you press the gas or always when moving?

Only when you touch the gas and maybe ever so slightly at deceleration.

But mostly when accelerating from a dead stop.

Is your truck completely stock? Everything that isn't should be listed in this post to help.

Only thing not stock is my bumper, Baxter oil filter adapter and taller tires 275/70r18.

No lift, no engine mods - nothing

Im starting to wonder if it's a bad universal joint. My u joints have no play but with it making sound only under load, and the sound speeds up as I speed up. I'm thinking it's a u joint.
