Hey everyone I wanted to make sure I am not overlooking something with my truck or if it is something normal. I have a 2017 Platinum and I noticed recently that when I am stopped (no rolling at all) in drive or reverse when I turn my steering wheel left or right when I reach a certain point I feel a very light vibration in the steering wheel. Its a very small window to make it do this if I keep turning it stops. Its the same amount of turning on each side when it does it.

The other thing I noticed is when I put the truck in park or neutral it doesnt do it at all..... Is this normal? Its nothing crazy no popping no grinding just seems like maybe something the truck does when in gear. Just wanted to be certain its okay. Steering returns great and can drive and turn with one hand no problem.

Is it when you turn the wheel all the way one direction or only part way?

Its when I am turning the wheel almost to max on either side I would say I am about 3/4 of the way to a full turn either left or right and I can notice it. Happens in the same place on either side its a very small window where you can feel it.

Maybe it’s the point where the ps pump has to work harder and you feel that vibration. And it’s noticeable because the engine already has a load from being in gear.

Thats actually been my train of thought that its where the power steering motor is kicking in to help the turn. I havent been able to nail it down 100% but I think its worse when its cold harder to find once the truck is warmed up so all of that would make sense in my head. Just wanted to make sure I am fine for thinking its nothing to worry about.

Yeah, PS motor is helping. In these trucks it's a light vibration. In my F150 it sounded like the dang pump was about to go out. LOL

Yeah, I was thinking it sounds like it has something to do with the power steering pump but I see some folks with more knowledge and experience than me have already chimed in.
