Hello, all. Ryan23 here. I haven’t bought a Sequoia or Tundra yet, but getting close. Any advice on years etc to look for or avoid are welcome. Wife and I are currently leaning toward a Gen 2 Sequoia. Also, is there any truth to transmission concerns about the 2017s? Thanks. ;)

Welcome aboard! What happened in 2017??? Transmission is the same Aisin unit since 2008 (2007 for the 5.7 Tundra). They ditched the transmission cooler fully in the Tundra in 2019. Not sure what else would be different for Sequoia.

Apparently, it was the 2014s that had a few transmission complaints reported, per the link above, but I could swear I read something somewhere about the 2017s… That’s why we have these threads, right? Thanks, again, all. :) Ryan

3 complaints. Total. Not sure that would even qualify for me.
