Valhalla’s Shield theft deterrent/skid plates info and ordering post

I am thinking about adding an option for the front skid plates to have press in studs for the plastic tabs, they would not come installed as they would likely get damaged in shipping, but you could install them easily with hand tools

 

I used the OEM plastic caps and they fit/worked perfectly.

 

I like mine with the plastic tucked under, but I can see where that's a personal preference thing.

 

Thanks, I have the cat plates installed under my 21 already. I'm trying to install the vahalla shield's skid plate to the cat shield but there isn't a guide for that. I had to delay the skid plate install due to paint issue. apparently i didn't put on a top coat and only the eprimer.

 

hey @endagon, did you get 4 pieces for the skid plate? I was wondering if you can provide me with some better shots of how you got that installed? I probably have another week before I can start my install, waiting for the paint to dry.

Unfortunately your experience is the same as many others. Check with your bank and see how they can help. After many dates Tyler committed to were missed, he then stops responding. My bank/credit union contacted his asking for a proof of shipment or a refund and they chose the latter. I ended up making my own from $200 of supplies from HomeDepot.

 

Check out the write-up in my "build". It is for the full plate kit including the engine skid plate. It is a bit outdated since Tyler has updated some bolt sizes and I don't think the spacers are needed anymore, but the majority is correct with lots of pictures.

My OEM ones broke, I used sheet metal screws to attach it, not the cleanest but worked just fine.

 

Good luck guys. I'm out after being told it will ship next week multiple times. Anyone defending this guy needs to toe the line when it all falls apart. Two weeks ago he "had my plates and just needed to ship them." I can post all of the communication where he lied about processing times if anyone is interested.

 

I have had my front and rear plate...1/4 aluminum unpainted still in the box. I might sell them since I have thought about the chances of cat theft in my driveway at near zero. Pls PM me if interested. Really don't want anyone to cancel an existing order to get these so pls don't do that to a good guy.

 

A good guy? He's been sitting on "my" plates for 2 weeks apparently. I've been straight lied to multiple times, so don't white knight this guy.

Impatient? I waited two weeks at a time to ask you about the shipment you said was going to happen the week before. It's not impatience. You had my money for just under three months, with multiple promises of shipping and it didn't happen. I have zero trust in the things that you say. If you're so overwhelmed, why are you taking on new orders, doing new projects and finding time to put out fires here? My boss does aluminum welding. He's a year out on stuff, so he's not taking people's money to sit on for however long it takes to get to them.

I understand your frustration and anger, I really do and I'd likely be in a similar boat, but he's refunding for you. What more do you want?

 

It isn't your driveway so much you need the shields.
It is ANYTIME you park the vehicle ANYWHERE unattended for more than 4 minutes..

I want him to be honest with people so that their money is not tied up in something that might not ever show up. Do you know how many messages I'm getting from people who are in the same boat and tired of being lied to? Is being lied to OK with you? He shouldn't be taking more money if he can't keep up with the thousands that he is holding on to from other people.

 

Like I said, I agree that there should be better processes, but blasting in the for sale thread is usually frowned upon. I think there's a specific thread somewhere for vendor issues, but I'm not sure.

Thank you. In reality how many people are going to see that versus this 180 page thread where he is still taking money for months at a time? I agreed to the 4-6 weeks that was posted on his website. I got antsy after 3 months and was concerned that he was going to fail and I wouldn't get my money back. Again, he shouldn't be taking on new orders if he's too backed up to fulfil ones from months ago.

 

Totally understand. I didn't expect Tacoma's to be a priority at the moment when you are up to your eyeballs (aluminum in the eye even!) in Tundra plates.
