What's the advantages of going to a 295 vs 275. Down side heaver, speedometer recalibration a little less mpg possible wheel well chop an spare tire location adjustment. So what's the advantages ?? limited 4x4 5.7 off roading not so much rock climbing. Running stock 275 65 18 with method 701's now

Basically going from a 32 to right at a 34, but yes they are considerably heavier.

My main focus for the bigger 295/70/18 is a little more ground clearance, and second to that, in my opinion, looks nice. I am however one of the guys that did the more tame michelin defenders in that size(which have proven amazing to me). Also lighter than the beefier tires.

so first off....the 275 to 295 means you're going wider. that first number is your width.
secondly, if keeping the same aspect ratio of 65, then you're going to a 33, not 34 as stated above. if you want a 34, your aspect ratio would have to change to 70.
so what's your final size you're running? are you wanting the same diameter but wider tire? if so, then 295/60R18 will be your closest bet to get more surface area, but same diameter (or close enough to it).
check out to help you see the differences between tire sizes.
i personally like the look more of a wider tire, but that does create more resistance on the road. it also allows more traction/surface area during off roading.
so ultimately, i think knowing what your actual end goal for the truck/tire is will help determine what to go for.

Good call....I was thinking the 295/70 that most go with.

I read it as shorthanding the metric size, implying 295/70R18… but only @Sonicbluerider will know… I didn’t think 295/65R18 was a real offering.

To OP, in your use case, it sounds like your only real advantage would be aesthetics. IMO the 34” tire fills the wheel wells nicely without looking stuffed. I was looking for more ground clearance, as @17inferno mentioned. But will be going to a full 35 soon.
