You should be fine. I have the same set. Mine are tapped into the parking light circuit and on a switch mountedin the bed. That way I'll never have to worry about them being left on.

    I don't see why not.

I have those same strips (except the 3-pc) and love them.

I personally chose to go straight from the battery into the bed because I wanted constant HOT without having to open the cab and futz with any other switches to energize my lights &/or 12V/USB receptacle.

If I have a cart full of stuff at Costco I want to just drop the tailgate and turn on the lights without going to the cab.

I use the 12V outlet to plug in a portable shower to rinse off after surfing. I want to be able to drop tailgate and have my hot shower ready without dropping saltwater on everything up front turning stuff on.

But that's what I decided works best for me... Your mileage may vary.

FYI, a lot of the reviews say the adhesive on those light strips isn't very good... I cleaned the hell out of the mounting surface with alcohol and they have stayed stuck very well. I see you're in TX so I dunno what summertime heat in Texas will do to the adhesive, (Damn near killed me) but I've had no problems with my light strips sticking.

Bed lights are a great mod that comes in very handy.

    I am so doing this.
The O.E. bed lights that came with mine are like the interior lighting. DIM.
When I want light in the bed I want it to look like @SD Surfer 's above.

I like the power tap/outlet also.

Yeah I love my Toyotas but they are kinda stingy with the lumens!

I was shocked they gave my 2019 truck like 43 12V outlets in the cab but couldn't throw one in the bed?! Come on...

    Here's a thread when I did it. https://www.tundras.com/threads/whooo-bed-is-almost-dialed-bedrug-check.124960/

I'm happy with how mine turned out and I use the hell out of both the power and the lights, makes my world so much easier... But if I were doing it over again I'd go with a little bigger box.
I'm like $20 all in for mine and that's just a 2-gang junction box from the Home Depot electrical aisle, but when I added the lights it got a little tight stuffing all the wires, connectors, and fuses back in the box.

@dittothat has a nice setup he posted using some nice waterproof boxes that are available in all different sizes on Amazon.

Doing it over I would use a bigger box and maybe put dedicated switches for each... 12V, USB, Lights.

Sometimes I'll be doing something in the bed at night and briefly forget about the lights... Hit the switch and I swear I kiinda' hear the angels sing.

Double check the fuse but it sounds like you said that you are getting 12 volts on the meter? Maybe try a different grounding spot as well.
