ive never had a trailer, and need one for my side by side. I don’t have much money, so I am looking at used trailers. I was hoping to get some advice about things to inspect or look for so I don’t get a bad one. Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you.

Wheel bearings are the big one. Often neglected. Jack it up and make sure the wheels spin smooth. Open the dust cap and check for clean grease. Not a deal breaker if it needs new bearings, but definitely a negotiation point. They are inexpensive and fairly easy to replace. Check the trailer wiring to make sure the lights work. Again easy fix, and lights are cheap, but a negotiation point as well if they don't work. Check date codes on the tires. Those are always neglected because the tread never wears and they just crack from age.

Other than that, just obvious signs of damage to the steel. I assume youre looking for a single axle with no brakes, otherwise theres some other things to look for with the brakes.

Bad wheel bearings, non-functioning lights, and bent tongues are the most common things I see with older trailers.
