    Hey yall,

I've been scouring the internet for a new (to me) tundra. Finally found one with low milage, 1 owner, and all my needs plus some. It's a 2019 limited with TRD OR pkg 17k miles. Contacted the dealer and he shot me straight saying it popped a check engine light reading P1613 which is the "secondary air injection system driver" per google. I know they recently changed the battery as well.

I've only seen one other post on here with that error code on a 2.5 gen but it involved someone's cat converter getting stolen off their truck and the code popping after the replacement cat was installed...

Very clean looking truck but if this is a plaguing issue I want no part of it...this is why I'm ditching my Ford and returning to Toyota.

Anyone have any input? Thanks in advance.

Under warranty, have the dealer fix it.

SAIS is one of Toyota’s bonehead engineering devices. It’s located under the intake so expensive to fix. There are kits to bypass as long as your state doesn’t have smog inspections

Haven't seen a lot of failures on the AIP system on this new of a truck.

Check for water damage. I’ve read the AIP system can suck up water if it’s deep enough and damage it. Might be why the previous owner got rid of the truck.

@batman900 I hope you were able to track down the issues. The P1613 is not all that common but very specific error code, it relates to the Air Injection Drivers in the Secondary Air Injection System. When we come across this error code we recommend doing some troubleshooting. You hope the driver has gone bad which is a simple fix (not particularly cheap) you can replace it. Again, it is not common for the drivers to go bad especially on a vehicle as new as 2019. as @timsp8 mentioned the more likely reason for the error code is some time of water or wiring damage. This is much more intensive to track down. I hope this helps and for additional resources on the SAIS check our the thread below.
