I usually go to Crutchfield to see what fits and is available. Both radio options are available in aftermarket.

If you're looking for OEM, you might find those features in a later version like an 05/06. I not sure if it's a direct fit, but I believe it can be done.

I have a 2019 Toyota 86 radio in my 05. But being an 01 it will be FAR easier and cheaper to go with a decent aftermarket unit and replace one of the power outlets with a USB port

I've noticed everything brand name at Crutchfield is "Temporarily Out of Stock". It seems about all they have left is Dual and Boss. I presume it's a result of the microchip shortage.

Yes, the microchip shortage is definitely having an impact in the head units. I went with the Dasaita unit and a lot had to do with availability of radios in general.
They just received some Pioneer double din units come in a couple months ago, but out of stock on most everything else.
Crutchfield is in my town, so I drop in every once in awhile. I’ve also gotten discounted stuff from their return department.

Local bestbuy installed mine for free. JVC-M750. I’ve been pretty happy with it.

Every Din or Double DIN radio should fit into the 2001 truck, just find the one that you like and go with it.

Depends what you're looking for. If the stock system is okay for you, then these type fm transmitters work great. I've been using one for Bluetooth streaming for music from my phone for 3 or 4 years now, also plays a mini SD card and does hands free phone calls. An amazing gadget if the stereo is good for you. Just plug in the cig lighter and set the transmitter to an used portion of the fm band and the radio to the same frequency.

I used one of these for years and it worked great. The phone connects to it automatically every time you start the truck -- just like a newer head unit.

    I found two drawbacks:
    1) The outgoing hands-free phone audio was less than ideal because the mic is on the unit, which is down by the floor.. I could hear just fine, but I sounded like crap to the person on the other end of the call.
    2) When I traveled out of my home area, it could be troublesome finding an open frequency that stayed clear. Honestly it wasn't that big of an inconvenience, but it did happen a few times.

I went with the GTA carkit. Provides BT, USB out (for charging) and an AUX input. Plugs in the back of the OEM head unit and tucks nicely out of the way. Not one compliant for folks on the other end of the call.

It's a bit pricey but is another option...
