My 2013 was at the dealer to fix a job they did poorly & they said I needed to replace my upper control arm. For 1600 I said no.

I ordered the part before getting the truck back, but looking at it, I see no issue & it is not making any noise nor misbehaving.

What is there to look for/if it "don't seem broke" do I fix it?

The wearable components are the bushings and the ball joints. Stock Toyota parts can go up to 200k on those vehicles if they were never lifted. They would have needed to say something like "your upper ball joints are bad, we need to replace the arms" or something like that. The arms themselves don't really go bad, unless they're rusted and broken (unlikely), but the ball joints and bushings can go bad, and Toyota buys those assembled from their supplier, so they would replace the whole thing.

Last year, before my extended warranty expired, I brought it in, they said the cam tower was leaking (I had seen no evidence, but figured let's get it done) and the driver upper arm was bad. They did both. 2 weekends ago I was hunting down a minor idle roughness & figured spark plugs were a good place to start, I removed the #1 plug & hit a Beverly Hillbillies gusher, as they had r&r'd the valve cover as part of that operation, I called & said you broke it, fix it. They did (hopefully better than last year) luckily literally on the day the 1 year they gave their repairs warranty expiration, while they had it they said the other side was now leaking also.

I got it back yesterday & checked, I also see no evidence of that issue, I had already ordered those gaskets, but am not touching it until I have to.

Proof of why dealers need to be avoided.

    Thanks.
