Hello all. I have a 2008 Limited with 206,000 miles. In a few days I am upgrading to a 2020 SR5 with 17,500 miles. The 2008 has been a great truck and an absolute work horse, but it has been having some issues and the previous owner replaced the factory radio and absolutely butchered the system.

Welcome and greetings from Minnesota. Make sure to get some cat shields if not already equipped. Tundras are catalytic converter theft targets.

Welcome from GA. With all the options and adapters in the market I don't see why they butchered the radio. I could drop my Entune with Nav head unit back in my '16 tomorrow if I wanted to keep my current head unit.

I appreciate the heads up. My truck is almost always in my driveway with cameras on it every night and in sight at work all day.

My friend had his catalytic converter stolen off of his Prius. It was in his work parking lot, on camera. It took the thieves around 2 minutes and they were gone before security could respond. He replaced the converter and added a theft shield. A few days after he brought his now repaired Prius back to work the thieves returned, jumped out of their car, rolled under his Prius, rolled right back out and went over to an unprotected Ford pickup. Cut off the converter and they were gone in less than 5 minutes, again all on camera. Security from his work let him observe each occurrence. My point being that cameras no longer deter theft. Tundras have 4 converters under the truck. If stolen currently there is a 4 to 6 month wait for replacements at a cost of around $6,000. (Verify with your dealer) Take it for what it’s worth. I don’t mean to sound like Debbie Downer, but cat theft is a major problem up here in Minnesota. And most important of all, congratulations on your new Tundra. Hope you get as many pleasure filled miles of operation as you did with your 2008.
