    Hello,
I’m nearing the top of the list for a Hybrid at my dealer in Northern California. I’ve gone back and forth on a Platinum Hybrid vs. a TRD Pro. I have decided to go with a Platinum as I love all the features, and probably won’t be off-roading.
But, if I wanted to upgrade the suspension later, are the Bilsteins on the TRD Pro the way to go, or are their shocks that are even better?
Are there any other upgrades that are recommended?

Or how about the Fox shocks?

TRD Pro's get Fox shocks specific to Tundras. Dont think Pros had Bilstein since like 2017'ish. The normal TRD Tundras have Bilsteins comparable to the 4600 / 5100 series shocks.

For a truck that will not be doing a bunch of serious offroading / be predominantly a pavement princess, the Pro's Fox shocks are the best all around shocks you can buy. Very capable off road, and ride like a dream on road. I have them on my 2018 Platinum, and LOVE the way it rides. They are not cheap, but 100% worth it.

Thanks for the info! Right I after I posted this I realized I said Billsteins. I meant to say Fox. How much might it cost to put Fox shocks on a 2022 Platinum?

Probably jumping the gun on replacing shocks on the truck you don't have yet, but I get it, fun to look into mods. If you do not plan on off-roading, why are you looking to replace the shocks? Are you looking more for a lift height change vs performance? Will it mainly be a daily driver, or using it to tow?

I would also be curious to know the cost of the TRD Pro shocks and if this is something you plan on doing yourself. I've driven a couple Tacomas with those shocks, and was not too impressed. But then again I am comparing that to some custom tuned Fox shocks which would be more $$. So yes, there are definitely better shocks out there. Recommended upgrades would depend on your goals with the new suspension, mainly having to do with lift height.

I too, don't have my tundra yet, but I'd be interested in the possibility of it. I have an '18 Wrangler Rubicon that was pretty rough from the factory. When I replaced the shocks with Fox, it smoothed it out amazingly! Was night and day different. That may just be for a wrangler, but I'm really curious what good fox shocks could do for any vehicle now. Has anyone done this that anyone is aware of, on this forum?

Just guessing, but I think I’d rather roll with a set of Kings. Looks like you can get 2.5” C/O’s for the front and 2.5” remote reservoir rears for about $3,500. Save a good $500 off that if you don’t want clickers…

I only said Kings because they were the first ones I found in a quick search. Any of the high end choices would be fantastic. King, Fox, ADS, etc.
